During the French Revolution, one question divided the country more than almost anything else: what matters more, the right to property, or the right to exist? 🇫🇷⚖️
For the bourgeoisie, private property was sacred 🔑For the starving people of Paris, survival came first ❤️
As bread prices exploded and famine spread, revolutionaries debated whether the state should control food prices, redistribute wealth, or protect individual property at all costs 🏠
Some believed liberty meant protecting ownership, others argued that freedom means nothing if people cannot eat 🥖
This debate shaped some of the Revolution’s most radical moments, and honestly… it still feels relevant today 👀

🎨 Michelangelo and Rodin: two sculptors but one obsession with the human body
At the , discover the fascinating dialogue between Michelangelo and Rodin through unfinished masterpieces, powerful sketches, and monumental sculptures 👀
One of our favorite artistic techniques featured in the exhibition is the non finito (“unfinished”) style: where parts of the sculpture intentionally remain raw or incomplete 🖼️
Michelangelo used it to make figures appear as if they were emerging directly from the stone, and Rodin later embraced the same idea to capture movement and emotion 💙 The result feels incredibly alive and modern, even centuries later

📍 Musée du Louvre , Rue de Rivoli 75001 Paris
🎟️ Exhibition included with museum ticket: Full price €22 / Free for EU residents under 26

Suspended from the dome of the Panthéon, the Foucault Pendulum is one of the most elegant scientific demonstrations ever made 🌍

In 1851, French physicist Léon Foucault created this experiment to prove that the Earth rotates on its axis: something that had never been visually demonstrated so clearly before 👀

The pendulum works in a surprisingly simple way: once set in motion, it naturally continues to swing in the same direction because of inertia. But while the pendulum keeps its original plane of motion, the Earth beneath it is constantly turning 🔃

As a result, observers on the ground see the pendulum’s path slowly rotate over time. The pendulum itself is not changing direction, we are moving with the Earth underneath it 🗺️

At the latitude of Paris, the pendulum’s plane appears to complete a full rotation in approximately 32 hours. The effect is even faster closer to the poles, while at the Equator the apparent rotation disappears completely 🫣

Originally demonstrated at the Panthéon in Paris in March 1851, Foucault’s experiment became one of the most famous scientific proofs of Earth’s rotation and remains a masterpiece of both physics and public science communication ✨

Hidden behind the Centre Pompidou, the Fontaine Stravinsky is one of Paris’s most playful and surprising works of public art ✨
Created in 1983 by artists Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely, the fountain mixes colorful sculptures, moving mechanical pieces, and water choreography inspired by the music of composer Igor Stravinsky 🎼
A perfect reflection of the Pompidou spirit: bold, experimental, and completely unlike traditional Parisian fountains 🎨

Inside the church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont, you’ll find two extraordinary holy water fonts made from enormous giant clam shells 🐚
These shells come from the Indo-Pacific region and were brought back to Europe through long-distance maritime trade during the 17th and 18th centuries ✨
Rare and highly prized at the time, they became symbols of prestige and exoticism in churches and royal collections 💎

The shells at Saint-Étienne-du-Mont are among the most remarkable examples in Paris and perfectly reflect the church’s blend of Gothic architecture, Renaissance decoration, and historical curiosities 👀

But Paris whispers a different story… ✨

In the 13th century, the craftsman Biscornet was reportedly commissioned to create the incredible ironwork on Notre-Dame’s portals. The problem? The task seemed impossible. According to legend, he then struck a deal with the Devil to complete the work… 🔥
