The Trevi Fountain is one of the most recognized landmarks and one of Rome's most visited attractions. You may have heard (or perhaps not heard) that in February of 2026, Rome began charging a €2 fee to non-residents to enter the area closest to the fountain. However, the fountain can still be viewed from the piazza for free.

In order to avoid the large crowds that gather in the piazza and around the fountain, I recommend going early in the morning (before 7:30) or late in the evening (after 10:30 when you can see the fountain lit up).

Mexico Day 5 Part 2 - After another great buffet lunch, I spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around the pools and Angye had to deal with me a couple more times in her water aerobics and Zumba classes. I think I need to hire her as my personal trainer and bring her home with me so I will exercise more regularly. 😁 For dinner, I ate at the specialty Mexican restaurant, and someone probably should have told them that if they left a bunch of sombreros lying around by the bathroom I was going to put one on and take a selfie. The evening entertainment tonight was karaoke, and I figured no one needed to be tortured so instead I opted for an evening stroll around the property. I can't believe it is already time to come home tomorrow!

Mexico Day 5 Part 1 - I tried to go against my usual nature and sleep in, I truly did, but there was a breathtaking sunrise calling, and a delicious breakfast buffet (with a made-to-order omelet). I did do some relaxing at the beach and the adult-only pool before the fantastic Angye (pronounced Angie) had to put up with me again at her yoga class. She was the instructor at the Zumba class I attended yesterday. After that I headed next door to the spa for my time in the hydrotherapy circuit. The amazing Jesus (read that name however you want because he just might be a saint😁) led me through the experiences of the sauna, hydrotherapy pool with cascading water and jets, and the hot tub. My experience was only supposed to last an hour, but I ended up being in there a little over an hour and half because he kept giving me extra time in the stations if I wanted. He brought me water and a lavender scented towel in the sauna and two cups of tea later on. I also got time in the relaxation room with a heated shoulder pad and a blanket. I don't know if this is the typical level of service or if I just got some extra hospitality because it is the shoulder season for travel here, but I am not complaining one bit. I was also given a little note and an incense stick when I finally left. Two thumbs up for the service here!
