🌈The sun hit the glass around this sculpture from Rodin, creating a beautiful rainbow on the sirène.😳

Three times refused from the Beaux-arts school, Rodin joined the Catholic church and the French army before becoming the famous creator of "the thinker"!

🤔Scaffolding? Nope! That's the Centre Georges Pompidou.

Founded in 1977, it's the biggest museum dedicated to modern art in Europe. 🖼🔝

Like pretty much every time we have built something modern in Paris, it was a controversy.

Indeed, with all the stairs and pipes outside the building, its appearance is not to the taste of everyone!

From the top floor, there is one of the best panoramic views of Paris!🗼👀

This column, called "la colonne Vendôme", has a secret! It's been built with about 180 canons taken to the allied armies of Russia and Austria! 📯🎇

Indeed, in 1805, in the context of the Napoleonic wars, Austrian and Russian empires tried to stop the French army in Austerlitz, in what was going to be called "the three emperors battle".⚔️💥🔥

France finally won the battle against a much more numerous enemy after 9 hours, and to celebrate the victory decided to melt all the captured canons to build à colomn that would tell its story! 📕

😳✨Hidden gem of the Louvre!

There is much more than just the Mona Lisa or the Venus of Milo in this amazing museum!

One of my favourite parts of these more secret spots is the Second Empire lounge. Napoléon III -the emperor at this time- was the nephew of Napoléon Bonaparte and had a taste for luxuary!
