Mont Saint-Michel

You’ll be picked up at your hotel around 07:00 and taken by minibus across the Normandy countryside to arrive at the coast before noon, an enjoyable four-hour drive with an English-speaking driver guide. There you will visit the beautiful abbey of Mont Saint-Michel, built on top of a tiny rocky island. The monastery dates from the 13th century and was for long a pilgrimage destination. Lunch will be offered in a restaurant in the quaint village at the foot of the mountain. After a tour with your guide, you’ll have plenty of time to stroll and visit the site on your own. The village, the steep streets, the ocean, and a mysterious monument at the top. You’ll leave for Paris around 16:00 and be dropped off at your hotel doorstep at the end. A great long day out in the French countryside, with a look at medieval France. If the number of passengers requires, the drive to Normandy and back may be by comfortable coach on a few busy days, but we will always ensure doorstep pick up and drop off at your hotel in a minibus.
