A quick stop in Versailles and a very rainy Paris to wrap up our annual mother–daughter trip. From morning walks on beautiful grounds to afternoons at the spa and evenings of amazing food, Adare Manor—home of the 2027 Ryder Cup—really has it all. Championship golf, endless activities, a stunning setting, and just 30 minutes from Shannon Airport. Don’t miss Harry Lowe’s chocolatier on the grounds and the most decadent hot chocolate—perfect to enjoy during a carriage ride through the estate. A wonderful start or finish to any trip in Ireland.

Having not been to Hong Kong in years, I was completely blown away. The romance and intrigue that always made this city so special are still very much alive and now matched with every modern luxury and comfort imaginable.

There’s still that unmistakable energy of a city in perpetual motion. From beautiful hotels and exceptional service (the kind the Orient is known for) to tax-free shopping featuring every luxury brand you can think of — Hong Kong lights up the days and nights.

Hong Kong is a food destination as well, with outposts of internationally acclaimed chefs effortlessly coexisting phenomenal local restaurants offering every type of fresh local cuisine. Historic landmarks and modern museums, and you’ve got a destination that perfectly blends past and present.

Easy to get to from US gateways Hong Kong is a wonderful place to begin or end adventures through North and South Asia.

If you would have told me that Belgrade, Serbia had a sleek modern waterfront along the Danube, a brand-new and stunning St. Regis Hotel, a charming old town, and will be hosting the World Expo 2027… I wouldn’t have believed it. But here we are — and it’s incredible. ✨

From there, it was on to Budapest, where every corner feels like a masterpiece. Sunset strolls along the river, iconic bridges, and a stay at the legendary Four Seasons Gresham Palace made the experience pure magic.

Two cities, one river, and a whole lot of European sparkle.

Munich ✅ Two nights at the Kempinski (fantastic location) before heading east to kick off my Balkan adventure.

First stop: Bucharest … and I can see why it’s called the “Little Paris.” Wide boulevards, Belle Époque architecture, and so much unexpected charm.

A day trip to Transylvania was a highlight: the fairytale beauty of Peles Castle and the legendary Bran Castle, forever tied to Dracula. Romania’s history runs deep — royals, wars, communism, and now a new chapter in democracy.

Huge thanks to Daniel, our amazing guide, who brought the country’s stories to life.

And this is just the beginning of the Balkans…
