📸 Capturing people, places & lots of pizza on the Amalfi Coast 🍕🍋🇮🇹

Flashback to Spring 2025 🌸 when my friend Travel Photographer & Writer said she had an extra bed in Positano… so of course I got on a flight ✈️ and spent a week with her exploring this stunning part of Italy 😍

Honestly, I was putting off visiting the Amalfi Coast because of the massive crowds 😱 crazy high prices 💰 and confusing logistics 🚃 BUT… I’m happy to report that this trip exceeded all my expectations!

🔑 My key takeaways:

1️⃣ Stay in Positano ⛱️ - This meant we could explore in the early morning & late evening WITHOUT the crowds!!!
2️⃣ Get a Private Transfer from Naples 🚘 - 100% recommend as roads are stressful to drive and public transport is slow + unreliable
3️⃣ Beautiful Views = A Million Stairs 🥵 - We stayed in an apartment with amazing views that was close to the beach (only 10 minutes) but it was still a steep walk either by the road or lots of stairs
4️⃣ Go off-the-beaten-path 🥾- Daytime is when the popular villages like Positano and Amalfi are at their peak! Use this time to explore the places where most tourist skip… these include hiking the Path of the God, booking a boat tour, and swimming at local beaches in Praiano and Maiori
5️⃣ Sunrise is Magic 🌅 - Rhianna plans & photographs elopement all over Italy… and on the Amalfi Coast that means waking up at sunrise for the best light and the streets all to yourself!

Swords clashing, drums pounding, and a story of love and battle that’s been told on this tiny island for centuries... Welcome to the Croatian island of Korčula ⚔️🇭🇷

Most people come to Korčula for the medieval old town and crystal-clear water (fair enough!), but this island hides one of Europe’s most unique living traditions… its sword dances 🤩🤺

The Moreška is a dramatic battle between two kings and their armies, each dancer swinging two swords, all to win the heart of a kidnapped princess 👑💘

Watching it live, with sparks flying off the blades just metres from you, is one of those travel moments that genuinely gives you goosebumps 🤩✨

📍 Tip: Moreška performances run throughout the summer in Korčula Old Town, so check the schedule and grab your tickets in advance!

Can I let you in on a little festive secret? 🤫🎄

When people think of Christmas markets, they usually picture Germany 🇩🇪 or Austria 🇦🇹 But after visiting markets all over Europe, my two absolute favourite destinations are Romania 🇷🇴 and Poland 🇵🇱

Here’s why they’ve completely won me over:
✨ Beautiful old towns that look like they’ve jumped straight out of a Christmas card
🍷 Mulled w**e and festive treats at a fraction of Western European prices
❄️ Smaller crowds, so you can actually soak up the atmosphere!
🎁 A warm, local feel that makes the whole experience extra special

The secret to Dubrovnik nobody tells you? Check the cruise ship schedule before you even start planning your trip 🛳️🚫🤯

On days when 3+ ships dock, up to 10,000 people pour into the Old Town at once and it’s miserable being caught in the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds 🫣

So plan your visit around the quieter days when only one cruise ship is docked… it will still be busy (there’s no escaping it fully) but wayyy more bearable 🇭🇷❣️

BONUS TIP: Explore early morning or in the evening after the ships sail out ⛵️ You’ll get to enjoy the magic of the golden walls, empty staircases, and quieter streets ✨

Five minutes of research = the difference between “why is it SO packed” and “I can’t believe how easy it is to explore” 🤩

❄️ Winter Highlights from Hamburg 🍻🇩🇪

I planned my trip to Hamburg with only three things in mind:
1️⃣ I had booked tickets to a concert 🎶
2️⃣ I wanted to visit Miniatur Wunderland 🚂
3️⃣ I needed to meet up with a school friend 🥰

Beyond that I really didn’t know what to expect in this northern German city & especially in the depths of winter 🥶

But I was pleasantly surprised to discover a funky city centre 🌆 fascinating history 📜 and thriving coffee culture ☕️

The cold weather meant we spent more time indoors but I didn’t mind. One of my favourite parts of the trip was spending an entire day (8+ hours) walking around Miniatur Wunderland and noticing every tiny little detail 🤩

💭 Hamburg surpassed my expectations & I would gladly go back but maybe in warmer weather ☀️❣️

💭 Understanding how to use public transport makes exploring Europe easy 🤩

Being able to confidently get around on the public transport (metro 🚇 buses 🚌 trams 🚃) is the #1 way to take your tourist skills to a new level ‼️

You’ll be able to explore so much more than by walking 🚶‍♂️ Plus, you’ll save 💰 on all those unnecessary taxi fares 🚖

💡 Every country’s public transport work slightly differently, so it’s a good idea to do a quick Google search or watch a YouTube video before you arrive.

🚨 CAUTION: Public transport is also a high risk spot for pickpocketing (especially in major western European cities). So make sure to stay alert and keep your belongings in front of you at all times!

‼️ Crazy how a little research can save you from the insane Lake Como crowds 🤯🤗

🌟 Here are my top 5 tips (as a Europe trip planner):

1️⃣ Don’t go in summer 🚫☀️

If your goal is to walk around pretty lakeside villages without feeling crushed then I highly recommended going in either April 🌸 or October 🍁 Most of the videos included in this reel are from those two months! The weather is perfection 👌 and swimming is still possible (I went in April) but it is more like a cold plunge 🥶

2️⃣ Book a small group or private boat tour 🚤🛟

Trust me. Do yourself a favour by avoiding the public ferries and buses as the ticket lines are insane 🎟️ + they fill up quickly and you can be left waiting an hour for the next one 😢 Whereas a boat tour allows you to relax and get up closer to the lakeside villages 🏡

3️⃣ Stay in Menaggio 🌺✨

Most people will stay in either Bellagio (most famous), Varenna (easiest to get to by 🚂) or Como (most accommodation options)… BUT the real secret is to stay in Menaggio 🤩 Located on the western shore of lake, Menaggio is the perfect base for exploring. It’s significantly quieter and in my opinion has the BEST views of the lake 📸‼️

4️⃣ Explore the lesser known villages 😍🗺️

There are between 30 to 40 unique towns dotted along the shores of the lake, yet most visitors only ever visit 2 or 3 🤫 So it’s actually not that hard to get away from the crowds if you are willing to skip the most famous ones! I promise you’ll still get that iconic Lake Como experience wherever you go, just minus all the people 👏

5️⃣ Wake up early ⏰

And if all else fails 🫠 for example you can only visit in summer, your budget only allows you to stay in Como town & you only want to see the main highlights… well your only solutione is to wake up EARLY 😴🌅 and start exploring before everyone else!

✨ Some people think Paris is overrated… but you can’t deny the magical feeling of seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle for the very first time🗼🤩

If I’m being totally honest… I never dreamed of going to Paris ✈️ instead I simply ended up there by chance on a school trip and thought well this is nice but I don’t really get what all the fuss is about 🤷‍♀️

That was until on the second day when I saw the Eiffel Tower sparkle ✨ It was at that moment that I felt it… the surreal, pinch-me magic of being in Paris 🥹🇫🇷
