Weddings & Honeymoons in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is one of the top Overseas Wedding destinations.Set for a traditional Sri Lankan wedding or for a simple ceremony on the beach. Diverse locations are available and choice is yours, Hill country locations amidst the Tea Plantation, Beach, Jungle and many more.....

Your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life so to make it a memorable occasion for both you and your guests, why not have the Wedding ceremony in a unique location in the very heart of nature in Sri Lanka ? Picture making you vows standing on a temporary platform (made from all natural materials and decorated with beautiful flowers) suspended over the Belihuloya river, with the Bakers Falls waterfall serving as a back drop. Or why not have an evening Wedding ceremony next to a reservoir, with the famous Sigiriya rock in the background. How is a waterfall as a backdrop?

Candles and oil lamps can illuminate the area and a mouth watering buffet can be served under the shelter of the nearby forest. Traditional touches of Sri Lanka such as the inclusion of local dancers, drummers, costumes and cuisine as well as the practice of local customs like cutting a ‘kiri bath' in a ‘kulla' (a milk rice alternative to the traditional wedding cake) will make the occasion a truly Sri Lankan experience! After the ceremony, we can arrange a whole honeymoon itinerary tailor-made to your exact requirements.

Beach Holidays in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a teardrop shaped island in the Indian Ocean and is blessed with all the ingredients for a perfect sun and sand holiday. The endless golden sand beaches trimmed with palm trees, the sparkling blue Indian Ocean waters, and the warm and tropical year-round climate is just perfect for whenever you want to enjoy the beach. These are actually just the basics…and we’ve definitely got them right. But if you’re looking for a deeper experience on your beach holiday with a mix of relaxation, privacy, seclusion, fun, excitement, adventure and an opportunity to truly mix with the culture of the country and its people…then Sri Lanka is possibly among one of the few countries in the world with the ideal beach holiday concoction.

Sri Lanka’s best coastline extends from Negombo in the northwest to Trincomalee in the northeast, passing miles and miles of beautiful beaches in the south coast and the deeper south of Sri Lanka.

Our southern coastal belt has many pockets of absolutely gorgeous flat and wide sandy beaches. The lagoons found in this area make safe all-year round swimming. Bentota has possibly the best beach in the entire south coast, while Hikkaduwa is famed for its corals and water-based activities like diving and snorkeling. The south coast is affected by the south-west monsoon from May to September, so the best time to enjoy the south coast beaches are from November to April. And if you’re a die hard beach lover, still no worries because the south coast’s off-season is Sri Lanka’s east coast’s season. From April to October the beaches from Arugam Bay all the way up to Trincomalee attract thousands of surfers. The white sandy beaches of the east are breathtakingly picturesque and are well-known worldwide for having some of the best surfing points.

So begin your most memorable beach holiday ever…journeying along one of the best tropical coastlines in the world.

GOLF
Sri Lanka is relatively unknown in the field of Golf, but surprisingly the country has three of the finest 18 hole courses in Asia. In fact the association with golf Sri Lanka is more than a century and the Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Championship, which was instituted in the year 1891 follows the British Amateur as the oldest national championship in the world. The three courses are situated in Colombo, Digana and Nuwara Eliya, Colombo at sea level, Digana at 600 m and Nuwara Eliya at an elevation of 2'070m have distinctly different terrain and climate conditions. This contributes to the enjoyment and challenge as you could be playing golf in three different countries. Play golf in Sri Lanka on your next Asia golf tour.
The Royal Colombo Golf Club
The Royal Colombo Golf Club, Sri Lanka: This course is 5'770 m long (par 71). A flat course with broad fairways which looks simple to beginners but there are many water hazards and well guarded bunkers which quickly change the opinion. The Royal Colombo Golf Club is easily accessible, being 20 minutes drive from all first-class hotels in the city. The Royal Colombo Golf Club is an Oasis in the city of Colombo surrounded by residential areas and business establishments. The Club provides its members with a facility that is beaming with historic golf memorabilia and a course that spans 96 acres. The scenic fairways, natural habitats of some rare species of fauna and flora and heart warming smiles are just some the characteristics that makes RCGC a true Oasis in the city.

RCGC is the home of the Sri Lanka Golf Union, the governing body of Golf in Sri Lanka and only answerable to the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrew’s in Scotland. There are only sixteen other Royal Clubs in the world which are older than RCGC and only three which are older outside the British Isles. The vibrancy around the club is not limited to the course, the verandah overlooking the course is a popular place to sit back with a chilled drink and celebrate a good round of golf or simply unwind after a hard day’s work at the office. RCGC has a host of facilities to cater to your every mood and fancy, whether you are a serious golfer or simply want to treat your family and friends in exclusive and tranquil surroundings.
Victoria Golf Club
Victoria Golf Club, Digana, Sri Lanka: This course is 6'190 m long (par 73) a championship golf course designed by Donald Steel and inaugurated early in 1999. The fairways are rather narrow in a hilly country side. Stately trees and avenues of coconuts lend the course an immediate air maturity. Impressive natural outcrops of rocks are a distinctive feature and indeed a hazard of the course. The Victoria Golf Club is situated 25 km east of Kandy and 150 km from Colombo.
The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club
The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, Sri Lanka: This course which is reputed to be one of Asia's finest is 5'520 m (par 71). The fairways are long and narrow and bordered by fir trees and thick bushes. It demands skilful "position play" and the hilly terrain makes it essential that players can cope with up-hill and down-hill lies. The Golf Club is 10 minutes.
