I'd like to start off by telling you a little more about myself. My name is April Pett and I am the force behind April in Paris Tours! I was born in the small town of Thorold, Ontario in Canada and came to Paris for the first time at the age of 17 with my high school language program. It was love at first site! As I exited the métro at Place de la Concorde, my eyes grew wide with excitement as they marveled at the magnificent, gold-dipped Luxor Obelisk and elegant dancing fountains, overseen from a distance by the magnificent Eiffel Tower. It was a moment that would define my life, yet never did I imagine that a decade later, I would be packing up all of my belongings into a suitcase with a one way ticket to this incredible city.
I originally came to Paris with dreams to pursue a Masters in Translation at the Sorbonne University, but after working as a tour guide for a season, my passion for travel and culture led me naturally to my next step. It was time to launch my own tour company, and voilà, April in Paris Tours was born!
In my opinion, the REAL Paris, isn’t the one you read about in guidebooks. It comes from wandering the streets, eating in less known cafés, observing the locals and looking through windows and doors (in the most inconspicuous manner possible).
