Property, Life and Info in Salanque
The Salanque area of Pyrenees Orientale offers sandy Mediterranean beaches, lively villages, rural hideaways and adds a Catalan flavour to French living. But above all this, it boasts year round sunshine and a mild winter climate. Wave goodbye to cold, grey weather, pack away those thick winter jackets and swap wellies for sandals.
The Salanque area is a natural unspolied region, located in the North East of Occitanie. It encompasses the Mediterranean coastline, the plain of Rousillon and the valley of the Agly river.
The largest town within this area is Perpignan, with its cultural heritage, busy shopping streets and relaxing cafe culture. It has TGV access direct to Paris, an airport with flights to many destinations in Europe and is only a short hop to the Spanish border.
Other coastal villages include Canet en Rousillon, Sainte Marie la Mer and Le Barcares. All of which offer long sandy beaches, many sea based activities, marinas and of course fantastic sea food restaurants.
