A lovely visit to Clos Fourtet yesterday- Premier Grand Crus Classe in Saint Emilion. The 2017 was drinking nicely. Their limestone cave’s & biodynamic plots are very fascinating.

Even though it rained, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit & tasting at Chateau La Corne in the southern Gironde. The small property owned by Stephen & Diana produces some delicious & unique wines using biodynamic farming !! Their 100% muscadelle was a lovely surprise along with their complex but very round & smooth rose. My favorite - their red made from 7 grape varieties !! There is so much passion behind their production. Thanks Steve for the tasting & lovely discussion ! Small but mighty - another treasure to savor in Bordeaux !

The river boat season has restarted with a first visit to Chateau Toulouse Lautrec. The beautiful remodeled home shows how it looked in the late 19th century when the mother of Toulouse Lautrec owned it & the painter spent his summers there. In addition to being able to visit the historic part - the castle also rents out rooms, hosts seminars & has a wonderful restaurant. Enjoy!!
