Something special is happening here this September, and a few extra spots have become available!

For one week, our 14th century priory becomes a home for making art, slowing down, and reconnecting with your creativity. Six nights in the French countryside near Poitiers with artist Ally Bryan.

Aside from learning simple, expressive techniques, you’ll also make your own brushes and creative journal.

Your week will also consist of medieval village visits, a morning at a French brocante, vineyard visits and tastings, sunny walks through the sunflowers, and long seasonal dinners with local wines.

No experience needed. Just a love of creating and the desire to give yourself the time. Your concertina art book will grow page by page, turning into a keepsake to take home.

We had a delightful Friday morning when friends came over and picked this years grape harvest. I’ll be posting what happens to the grapes!

On a lovely day out from Pressigny, you can visit the lovely town of Chinon, with its stunning castle, then head to Saumur where there is a wealth of entertainment, from wine tastings in some of the most famous names on the Loire, to boat trips and most fascinating of all, in my mind, exploring the caves where some of the hundreds of tons of mushrooms are grown each year. The living museum has lots of varieties growing - and they are for sale in the shop! A great way to spend a cool afternoon (it’s a steady 12 degrees underground) on a baking afternoon. Can’t recommend it enough! 🇫🇷

Delightful dappled shade in the Priory garden. The grass may be dry but we have a bumper crop of grapes almost ready to harvest! In the meantime, we enjoy our favourite chilled fizz in the evenings! Roll on 6pm! The Priory has a week available commencing the 15th August if you are looking for a last minute holiday! Sleeps two to 21! Lovely swimming pool and beautiful countryside and medieval villages and towns to explore.

Dining at Le Prieuré! From our signature salmon en croute, where ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg play significant roles, to delicious cheeses, local charentaise melon and wonderful locally grown salad ingredients! We love cooking for our guests! Two places remain on the art retreat 17th September.
