Johann Michael Haydn (Rohrau,, Austria, September 14 , 1737 – Salzburg, August 10, 1806) was an Austrian composer of the Classical period, the younger brother of Franz Joseph Haydn.

Michael Haydn was born in 1737 in the Austrian village of Rohrau, near the Hungarian border. His father was Mathias Haydn, a wheelwright who also served as "Marktrichter", an office akin to village mayor. Haydn's mother Maria, née Koller, had previously worked as a cook in the palace of Count Harrach, the presiding aristocrat of Rohrau. Mathias was an enthusiastic folk musician, who during the journeyman period of his career had taught himself to play the harp, and he also made sure that his children learned to sing.

Reutter was so captivated by [Joseph]'s talents that he declared to his father that even if he had twelve sons he would take care of them all. The father saw himself freed of a great burden by this offer, consented to it, and some five years after dedicated Joseph's brothers Michael, and still later Johann to the musical muse. Both were taken on as choirboys, and, to Joseph's unending joy, both brothers were turned over to him to be trained.

The same source indicates that Michael was a brighter student than Joseph, and that (particularly when Joseph had grown enough to have trouble keeping his soprano voice) it was Michael's singing that was the more admired.

Michael remained close to Joseph all of his life. Joseph regarded his brother's music highly, to the point of feeling Michael's religious works were superior to his own (possibly for their devotional intimacy, as opposed to Joseph's monumental and majestic, more secularized, symphonic style).

Clara Schumann ( née Clara Josephine Wieck; September 13 , 1819 – May 20, 1896) was a German pianist, composer and piano teacher. She is regarded as one of the most distinguished pianists of the Romantic era, exerting her influence over a 61-year concert career. She changed the format and repertoire of the piano recital from shows of mere virtuosity to programs of serious works. She composed a body of work, including solo works for her instrument, a piano concerto, chamber music and choral pieces.

She was married to composer Robert Schumann, and the couple had eight children. Together, they encouraged Johannes Brahms and maintained a close relationship with him. She was the first to perform many works by her husband and by Brahms in public. Her international concert tours in Europe began at age eleven with a tour to Paris. After her husband's death, she toured further, especially to Britain, with a focus on chamber music which she frequently performed with the violinist Joseph Joachim.

Salvador Bacarisse Chinoria ( Madrid, September 12, 1898 – Paris, August 5,1963) was a Spanish composer.
Bacarisse was born in Madrid and studied music at the Real Conservatorio de Música there, as a student of Manuel Fernández Alberdi (piano) and Conrado del Campo (composition). He was a leading member of the Grupo de los Ocho (founded to combat musical conservatism) and helped to promote new music as the artistic director of Unión Radio until 1936. At the end of the Spanish Civil War in 1939, Bacarisse exiled himself to Paris after rejecting the Francoist State of Francisco Franco. From 1945 until his death, he worked for Radio-Télévision Française as a broadcaster of Spanish-language programmes.
Bacarisse composed for the piano, mixed chamber ensembles, operas including El tesoro de Boabdil which won a French radio award in 1958, and orchestral works including four piano concertos and a violin concerto. His most famous work today is the Concertino for Guitar and Orchestra in A minor, Op. 72, composed in 1952 in a neo-romantic style. It is known in a celebrated recording by Narciso Yepes.

William Boyce (London, baptised September 11, 1711 – London, February 7, 1779) was an English composer and organist.

As Master of the King's Musick Boyce had the responsibility of writing music for royal occasions including funerals, weddings and coronations. He, however, refused to make a new setting of Zadok the Priest for the coronation of George III in 1761 on the grounds that Handel's setting of the anthem was unsurpassable – as a consequence of which Handel's setting has been played at every subsequent British coronation.

Niccolò Jommelli ( Aversa, September 10 , 1714 – Naples, August 25, 1774) was an Italian composer of the Neapolitan School. Along with other composers mainly in the Holy Roman Empire and France, he was responsible for certain operatic reforms including reducing ornateness of style and the primacy of star singers somewhat.

He subsequently visited Vienna before taking a post as Kapellmeister to Duke Karl Eugen of Württemberg in Stuttgart in 1753. This period saw some of his greatest successes, including the composition of what are regarded as some of his best works. Many were staged at the Duke's private theatres in the Palace of Ludwigsburg, outside Stuttgart. Mozart and his father Leopold passed through Ludwigsburg in 1763 on their "grand tour" and met the composer
