We had a wonderful visit to the Musee André Voulgre in Mussidan after a delicious tapas lunch in the centre of town.
The museum celebrates the delightful collection curated by Dr Voulgre throughout his life and documents the history of the town and region. I didn't realise it was a centre of shoemaking up until the 1970's. The town was also a centre of rural crafts which is documented in every lovely room. The reception team were very helpful and charming.
We will definitely be sharing this little gem with our guests.

Summer here has been fruitful and full of brightness 🌞

After our first Instagram account was hacked and we lost all the followers we had built up and had a relationship with, I lost my confidence and stopped posting about anything here which is a great shame because there's a lot beautiful things to share.

The start of autumn sometimes feels like a new year to me so I thought I would start again with this beautiful image of a solitary carpenter bee enjoying our sunflowers.

Beautiful Saint André this morning in the wintery sunshine. There has been a place of worship here since the third century - this building was consecrated in 1096 and it has been altered by hurricane, invasion and earthquake. Eleanor of Aquitaine and Anne of Austria were both married here and it continues to be a significant building attracting historians and tourists alike. Sitting here in the sunshine with a coffee and reflecting on all the building has witnessed is very pleasant indeed.

Just before Christmas we had such a wonderful time with photographer having a precious family photoshoot. We are all thrilled with her ability to capture these special moments.

Last Saturday we hosted friends and neighbours introducing them to a Wassail. Much singing, wass heiling and fun despite it being -4 degrees!
Let's hope those lovely apple trees will embrace it and autumn will see a few bushell bag full and some for under the stairs!
