Premium Economic London to Normandy D-Day Tour
On our 15-day London to Normandy D-Day Premium Economic Tour, you will have the privilege of attending the 85th anniversary commemorations of the Normandy landings after having learned how Winston Churchill led his country against N**i Germany. These tours are offered at a lower cost, due to 3-star hotel accommodations, while all breakfasts, dinners and entrance fees are still included. We discover the horrors the civilians had to endure during the months of bombardment by the Luftwaffe. We then explore the preparations of D-Day, the largest amphibious operation in history. We will see the weapons and vehicles used by naval, air and land forces in renowned museums, such as the Bovington Tank Museum. We will marvel also at iconic historical sites, such as Stonehenge. In Normandy, we will walk the American landing beaches Utah and Omaha. An entire day will focus on the D-Day anniversary ceremonies. We visit also the British and Canadian landing beaches, where our fellow Commonwealth troops fought.

A Pilgrimage to Mont-Saint-Michel - Book our pre-tour add-on!
Due to the great interest in visiting Mont-Saint-Michel during our Normandy program, we are pleased to introduce a new optional day excursion departing directly from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on the first day of your tour. The tidal island of Mont-Saint-Michel with its abbey rising high above the sea around it, is one of the best-known landmarks and travel destinations in Normandy. The island has been inhabited since at least Roman times, and it’s been the home of a monastery since the 8th century AD. The idea to build the church on the islet came when Bishop Aubert of Avranches had a vision in which he was instructed by archangel Michel (“Michael” in English, who is also the patron saint of paratroopers) to raise the monastery. According to the legend, Saint Michel cut a hole in Aubert’s skull with his finger as a reminder to finish his task. It took centuries of construction to reach the current breath-taking form of the monastery. When N**i Germany invaded France in World War II, Mont-Saint-Michel continued to remain a popular tourist destination, mainly for off-duty German soldiers. It is not widely known that after four years of German occupation it was liberated only by one American soldier and two journalists. Today, just like 1000 years ago, it is still an iconic destination for pilgrims, plus one of the most popular tourist attractions of France. If you want to find out more about the history of the abbey, read our article about the liberation of Mont-Saint-Michel. Join us on this add-on tour and explore an iconic piece of ancient history!

On June 23, we celebrate the birthday of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Auxiliary is a force of unpaid volunteers which assists the Coast Guard in all kinds of missions from boating safety to search and rescue, and vessel safety checks, but excludes law enforcement and military operations. On June 23, 1939, Congress authorized the creation of a reserve element for the Coast Guard. Subsequently, the Auxiliary and Reserve Act of 1941, established the Coast Guard Auxiliary in addition to the Reserve. Currently, the Auxiliary is overseen by the Department of Homeland Security. During their everyday work, Auxiliarists follow the Coast Guard's watchwords of Ready, Resourceful, and Resilient with an unwavering commitment. This promotion is dedicated to the service of these women and men.

On June 6, 2026, we celebrated the 82nd anniversary of the largest seaborne operation in history, namely the D-Day landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944. On this fateful day, the invasion fleet of more than 5,000 vessels and 156,000 Allied soldiers stormed the fortifications of the Atlantic Wall built by the Third Reich. Shortly after midnight, the amphibious assault was preceded by landings of paratroopers and glider-borne infantry who suffered great losses while securing key locations on the flanks of the invasion beaches. The success of the meticulously planned operation led to the liberation of France and, eventually, to the Allied victory on the Western Front.

In this year’s D-Day commemorations at the Normandy American Cemetery, 107-year old Omaha Beach veteran U.S. Navy Lt. Arthur Rose addressed the crown and read out his letter that he wrote to his family a few days after the landings. During the operations, he commanded a fleet of 36 vessels that delivered supplies to the troops already fighting on the beaches and further inland. Thank you for your service!
