On Human Rights Day, tourist guides can help visitors reflect on the importance of protecting heritage, promoting diversity, and valuing each community’s lived experiences. Through inclusive narratives, ethical practices, and respectful engagement with local communities, guides show that tourism can be a force for positive change.

By fostering empathy and understanding, tourist guides help ensure that travel not only broadens horizons, but also strengthens the universal commitment to human rights.

Human Rights Day commemorates the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

🌍 International Day of Persons with Disabilities — 3 December 2025

Theme: Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress

Today, the Union of Guides Rhin Supérieur - Oberrhein proudly stands with communities around the world to promote inclusion, dignity, and equal participation for all.

People with disabilities still face many obstacles—poverty, discrimination, and limited access to support systems. That’s why building an inclusive society matters more than ever.

As tourist guides, we believe that heritage, culture, and discovery should be accessible to everyone.

We are committed to:

✨ making our guided tours more accessible,
✨ supporting inclusive practices in tourism,
✨ and helping create welcoming spaces across the Upper Rhine.

Because when everyone can participate, our society becomes richer, fairer, and stronger.

Together, let’s open our doors wider and move forward without barriers. 💙

🌟 Union des Guides Rhin Supérieur - Oberrhein at the CVH – November 27, 2025

✨ We were proud to participate in the Commission Ville et Handicap (CVH) in Strasbourg!

The session was greatly enriched by the presence of:

• Guillaume LIBSIG, Deputy Mayor of Strasbourg
• Édith Lauton, Director of Le Lieu – Eurometropolis of Strasbourg
• Floriane VARIERAS, Deputy Mayor in charge of Inclusive City initiatives

It was truly inspiring to see the new accessibility map for Strasbourg Capitale de Noël come to life—a route designed for people with disabilities, along with a simplified French version to make the event easier and more welcoming for all. ♿🎄

Moments like this remind us why accessibility and inclusion matter deeply. We are honored to contribute to building a more open, inclusive, and joyful Strasbourg. 💙

✨ We Were There!

Our association took part in La Fabrique de Destination 2025 —
a key event organized by the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg,
the Eurometropolitan Office of Tourism, and ARTGE.

🎯 What we learned:

ARTGE shared the results of a full year of research on who visits the Grand Est region and what they’re looking for. A special focus was placed on the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg, with insightful presentations from Catherine GOUTTEFARDE and Benoît GANGNEUX.

📅 Event date: November 25, 2025

A great moment of learning and connection for all regional tourism players!

🎉 Happy International Museum Day! 🏛️

Today, we celebrate the invaluable role that museums play in preserving culture, telling stories, and connecting generations.

As Tourist Guides, we stand at the crossroads of the past and present — bringing to life the artifacts, voices, and heritage housed within museums around the world. 🗺️✨

🧭 Whether guiding visitors through ancient ruins, national galleries, or hidden local gems, we are proud to be ambassadors of history and culture.

Let’s honor museums as spaces of learning, dialogue, and inspiration. This year's theme — "Museums for Education and Research" — reminds us that museums are not just places of memory, but also powerful tools for building a better future.

🌍 International Day of Living Together in Peace | 16 May 🕊️

Today, we join people around the world in honoring the International Day of Living Together in Peace — a time to reflect on unity, mutual respect, and the richness of human diversity.

As tourist guides of Guides Rhin Supérieur - Oberrhein , we have the privilege and responsibility of connecting cultures, telling shared stories, and building bridges through dialogue and discovery. Every tour we lead is more than a journey through landscapes and monuments — it’s an opportunity to promote understanding and peace among people from all walks of life.

Let us continue to welcome the world with open minds and open hearts. Peace begins with empathy — and tourism, when guided with care and respect, is one of its most powerful vehicles.

💬 “Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.” – John Lennon

Living together in peace is all about accepting differences and having the ability to listen to, recognize, respect and appreciate others, as well as living in a peaceful and united way. 🕊️ May 8 – Commemorating the End of World War II in Europe 🇪🇺

Today, we remember May 8, 1945, a date marking the official end of the Second World War in Europe. It is a moment of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for the lives lost and the peace that followed.

As Tourist Guides, we walk through the landscapes of history every day—telling the stories of resilience, courage, and reconciliation.

From war memorials and battlefields to the cities rebuilt from rubble, we carry forward the memory of those who lived through this pivotal chapter in human history.

Let us continue to guide not just with facts, but with empathy and awareness, honoring the lessons of the past to inspire a more peaceful future.
