The Egungun's

They already speak for themselves and don't need much description. The 's are part of the culture in and other West African countries.
They are ancestral spirits worshipped during festivals and rituals.

The Egungun are represented by masked dances and colorful costumes, with the purpose of communicating with ancestors and receiving their guidance and blessings.

The area where the monument is located is a tourist attraction with numerous facilities, offering relaxation options and outdoor activities for residents and visitors.

The statue, situated on the esplanade of l'Amazone, represents an ancient all-female military regiment of the Kingdom of Danxomè, highlighting the historical strength of women as a reference for present and future generations in Benin.

Made of metal structure with a bronze coating, the statue stands at a height of 30 meters and depicts the character in motion, with one foot on a mound and carrying weapons of war.

The monument symbolizes values such as courage, bravery, and patriotism, serving as a point of pride and motivation for the female identity in Benin.
