There were 45 roses competing in the International Rose Competition at the Jardin des Plantes in Orléans. This garden specializes in roses that perform well into the fall, many of which had amazing scents ranging from raspberry to jasmin with notes of champagne, grass & even licorice for the experienced nose.

I spent a gorgeous weekend spent in the company of some of France’s finest female gardeners and artists! Patricia Laigneau has loving curated a collection of over 500 scented roses spread throughout the charming gardens at the which she designed herself after spending three years at the prestigious Horticultural School of Versailles. In addition to earning the label as a Remarkable Garden of France, her rose collection of botanical, antique and modern roses is a National Conservatory for scented roses. Tiphaine Corbellini, creator of held workshops for those interested in creating a potager and learning about biodiversity while shared her artistic talents by teaching visitors to sketch in the garden along with a book signing of her latest creation about allotment gardens -Jardins Ouvriers Jardins de Demain.
