Evenings like this...

It's so difficult to explain the views and experiences to people that haven't vacationed with us.

It's our last night with our lovely guests this week. A 5 course dinner, carefully prepared by your own private chef who has learnt your favourite things all week. Sharing the dinner with the crew who are now your newest friends. Excellent local wines matched with every course, just like the rest of the week.

 That’s why we’re so happy to introduce the newest member of our crew, Chef Dave👨‍🍳!

Dave joins us with over 15 years of experience cooking in hotels, ski resorts and private chalets across Europe. He’s passionate about good food, fresh local ingredients and creating meals that brings people together. On board of the Hotel Barge Elisabeth, you’ll find him in the galley preparing beautiful meals for you after exploring the timeless charm of France.

We’re thrilled to have him as part of our crew and we know our guests are going to love what he brings to the table(literally).

Heartbroken. Our beautiful Lily has been fighting with a liver issue for a few months. On Wednesday we had to say goodbye to our lovely, silly girl for the last time.

Already missing her terribly. 😢

Another farewell to a lovely family today. We've really had some amazing guests this year!

We have a week without guests ahead and a need to reposition Elisabeth, ready for our next cruise. Can't wait to meet the next lucky group to be joining us in bucolic Burgundy!

Another delicious meal on the pass for guests this evening. Matthew's new Duck 3 Ways. A succulent magret, a fabulous slice of foie gras and a beautiful croquette of duck confit with a local cherry sauce, pickled mushrooms and black pasta.

Having just had this (mine wasn't so pretty!!) I can tell you it was a-maz-ing!!!!

If you and some friends fancy a week of food like this with wine matched to every course, get in touch.

Oh, and the wine for this was a 2019, Cuvée Juliette from Dominique Gruhier in Epineiul.

Made it!

All safe and sound and moored up in Migennes. Crew back on board. It was definitely BBQ and G&T time!

The second photo is of our AIS screen. Shows the route we took from Leiden to Migennes over the 14 days.

It's been an adventure, can't wait to do it again!

Our penultimate stop at Villeneuve sur Yonne. It's nice to be back in our cruising area. Villeneuve is such a lovely little town; some reasonable restaurants too!

Tomorrow, Migennes and perhaps a day off. 🤣
