Progress is being made on Romany, we went back into the river Yvonne yesterday, no leaks, we're floating. Water blasting the roof, ready for painting, is the job today. Very pleasant in 30 + degrees

Romany is currently 3 meters up in the air, at Evans Marine boat yard on the Yvonne River. We await our turn for sand blasting of the hull.....work moves very slowly here...limited staff and lots of boat owners wanting to go cruising, so we'll sit and wait. It's not to bad, except for climbing up and down a ladder, to go, you know where....
The yard has an awesome collection of classic life boats /rescue boats. Simon, the owner is passionate about them all and can explain in great detail, their life history, one was designed to be parachutted to torpedoed sailors from an aeroplane.
Migenne, as a French town, has everything we need, quite handy to the yard. It is on a major train route, so getting here was easy.
The sun is shining and the days are getting warmer, low 20s at the moment and currently no rain in sight.
It is very pleasant in the evening to sit on our elevated back deck, with a wine and enjoy the French ambience, which abounds in bucket loads. Best wishes to you all.

Romany has left the port at Clemency after 2 lovely days....we were asked to leave....there is a flottage festival, over 3 days and we didn't want to get trapped there. Now on our way to Mailly le chateau.

Romany left Baye on the green traffic light, this gave us 1 hour to get thru the 3 tunnels. Stunning day, Stunning scenery, great lock keepers as we descend a flight of 17 locks....

Great progress being made on Romany, fore deck painted and both sides, RoseMary cleaned all the windows inside and out. We're on the move again today, Chatillon en Bazois, about 30 kls and 10 locks, we're locking up to Baye.

Romany has left Cercy le Tour, cruising 15kls and 5 locks to arrive in Pannacot...

Romany has left Decize and we're cruising to Cercy-le-Tour. She now has flowers on board adding some cheer....

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19, we are unable to cruise Romany on the French canals this year. The boat is currently in Roanne under the watch full eye of Keri Anne Foster, so appreciate having this lovely lady take care of Romany when we are unable to. Look forward to future trips in a country that we love. Will miss all that France is and our lifestyle aboard a boat. Take care every one. Good times will come again.

Romany has been put to bed for the winter, she is back in Roanne, tucked into the bottom corner of the marina. Winterising went smoothly, we're hoping for lots of rain so there is water in the canals next year for us.
We're now camped out in Brisbane, waiting for New Zealand to warm up.

Romany is tucked up in the new marina at Montceau les Mines. Rum & coke to warm up....its a tad chilly. We spent last night at Palinges. 8 locks, a lift bridge and 2 swing bridges, 22 kilometers and we've arrived. Temperatures are on the rise, moving into the mid / high 20s by Wednesday. All is well, salut xx
