I am pleased to say that Woodlands has been running for 8 years now, very successfully. This year has seen unprecedented bookings and I think I have only had two weeks without bookings. Even the winter bookings have increased. It seems that guests just like the chalet and its surroundings, a place to come to unwind

Je suis heureux de dire que Woodlands existe depuis 8 ans maintenant, avec beaucoup de succès. Cette année, nous avons connu des réservations sans précédent et je pense que je n'ai eu que deux semaines sans réservation. Même les réservations d'hiver ont augmenté. Il semblerait que les clients aiment tout simplement le chalet et ses environs, un lieu où l'on vient se ressourcer.

In the last two weeks the guests have appreciated the air conditioning and the whirlpool bath to help cope with the heat.

With all the problems of the last three months it's a problem to know how to feel better. All I can say is that at Woodlands you are completely isolated if you wish and you can continue to enjoy listening to nature. Guests are always welcome in Treignac provided they continue to follow the safety advice about the virus. We love masks in Treignac!!!
Avec tous les problèmes des trois derniers mois, c’est un problème de savoir comment se sentir mieux. Tout ce que je peux dire, c’est qu’à Woodlands, vous êtes complètement isolé si vous le souhaitez et vous pouvez continuer à écouter la nature. Les clients sont toujours les bienvenus s’ils continuent à suivre les règles de sécurité en ce qui concerne le virus. Nous aimons les masques à Treignac!

The cottage has been really popular this year and we still have visitors now!! The hot tub has been a great success even on the less sunny days and just adds to the relaxing surroundings. The deer still visit on a regular basis, much to the amazement of many guests who feel really privileged to be so close to nature. Of course my two new kittens (now grown up) are also regular visitors, they don'tr like to miss a thing!
We have lots of bookings already so I am looking forward to meeting lots of new people.

The maturing Woodlands Cottage

I am pleased to say that Woodlands has been a complete success this year and continues to have visitors booked well into December. We have met some great people as usual and had many of our regular friends coming back. Despite our own personal setbacks the show must go on and with the help from our friends we have managed to do exactly that. The Cottage has mellowed into the forest and attracts regular visits from the deer and my kittens!! Although the garden is not all that we wanted this year, at least we have managed to keep the weeds from the front door.The addition of the new heater/air con unit has given even greater comfort at the gite and our reviews reflect just that.We have plans for further improvements (health problems permitting) and we shall look forward to another busy year despite Brexit!! Thanks to all our guests and we look forward to meeting again.

Yesterday I was busy doing paperwork in the office and looked out the window to see our annual visitor stripping the cob nuts off the tree, that's right, the red squirrel. I then saw a new kid on the block on the bird table, a crested tit, first time I have seen one. And then, noticed our regular deer munching on the bank with a friend! Now that's what you call an office with a view!!

We are so lucky, a really lovely family are staying at the cottage. Its great for us to get back to what we enjoy most, socialising, and the reason we built the cottage. Thanks Jacqui, Simon and Ole

Well, the holiday season starts tomorrow!! The lake will be in full swing with canoes, pedaloes and swimmers and hopefully sunbathers! Woodlands has guests arriving so I guess its back to socialising, its a hard life!!
I still have some availability in late august and September if you fancy a break.
