Davido ,the Afrobeats superstar just released an album today friday , July 31 composed of 13 tracks .The album includes collaboration with local talents ,as well as remarkable world class musicians such as the sensational french pop and soul singer AYA NAKAMURA. The album is titled Oriadé , derived from two Yoruba words:
Ori – literally means head ,but in Yoruba philosophy it more profoundly means one’s destiny, divine purpose, or inner spiritual essence.
Adé – means crown symbolizing royalty, honor, achievement, and kingship.
Combined, Oriadé can be interpreted in several complementary ways:
* The Crown of Destiny
* A Destined Crown
* The Crown Follows Destiny
* The Crowned One or The Crowned Head” (a person destined for greatness)
For Davido, the title is deeply symbolic. It reflects the idea that true success and kingship come from fulfilling one’s destiny, rather than simply inheriting power. In interviews about the album, he has said the project is a tribute to his 15-year musical journey, his roots, his family, and his future.
