Simply shocked — the Apollo Gallery is one of our favorite places in the Louvre.

It could have been the plot of a great movie, but reality, sadly, lacks both the brilliance and the suspense.

And yet, this event reminds us how priceless our heritage truly is —
how much beauty, history, and genius this country still holds.
May it also remind us that protecting it is not a duty of the past, but a responsibility for the future.

Did you know that the Galerie d’Apollon was once home to some of the most precious jewels in France? These Crown Jewels, including the iconic Regent Diamond, symbolized the immense power and wealth of the French monarchy, serving as a dazzling testament to Louis XIV’s grandeur. ✨

🔮 The Treasures Within:
For centuries, the Galerie d’Apollon housed the French Crown Jewels, showcasing diamonds, sapphires, and emeralds that were worn by monarchs during ceremonies and important state occasions. The Regent Diamond, one of the most famous jewels, was part of this incredible collection. It was said to be the most dazzling diamond of its time, glittering with unparalleled brilliance.

💔 A Story of Theft:
