Attending a bwiti ceremony at the edge of the forest, in a traditional village enveloped in darkness and the sounds of wild nature, with only the light of the fire illuminating the small convent and the faces painted in white kaolin of the followers, is one of the most evocative experiences that Gabon can offer. A strong and particularly moving encounter with ancient ancestral traditions and “other” rituals, whose ultimate goal is common to all humanity, the search for goodness and supreme truth.

Absolutely not to be missed.

With a number of visitors that continues to increase, Gabon is increasingly asserting itself as a leading destination in the sub-region and at RV GABON EXPEDITIONS we are glad to make the world aware of all the tourist potential of the country.
We share with you some pictures from our last tour where our group of visitors was able to discover the capital Libreville and its history but also to attend a Bwiti ceremony in Lambarene.
An amazing experience that marked our visitors who came from the four corners of the world to discover our culture.

Throughout the year it is possible to witness traditional ceremonies such as the Bwiti, which is one of the most spectacular ceremonies in Africa.

This must be heaven!

Gabon is one of the few countries that is a net carbon sink. Gabon’s long-standing efforts to preserve its natural lands and waters make the country a critical part of solving the two global crises of biodiversity loss and climate change. Ecosystems that are rich in biodiversity have been preserved due to low deforestation rates. Its significant forest cover makes it the country’s main ecosystem with a diversity of natural environments, a rich and varied fauna (nearly 85,000 forest elephants), a diverse avifauna (more than 600 species) and a surprising flora (more than 65,000 specimens) that has not finished being classified. Fish stocks are just as abundant as those of forests.
