🥳 HOORAY, BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND! 🥳

I’m around all weekend, so if you’re looking to get your next holiday booked, need some advice or just want to chat through some ideas, I’m only a message away 📲✈️

I expect the roads and airports to be busy this weekend, so if you’re travelling, please allow plenty of time 🙏

This Pompeii memory 📷⬇️ from August 2019 always makes me laugh 😂 We managed to get in and out in just over half an hour! 😜 It was SO hot, there was no shade and the boys just wanted to get back in the pool 🏊‍♂️😂

Whatever you’re up to, have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend! 😎

Home Sweet Home 💕

We were delayed an hour and a half on the tarmac while we waited for the weather to improve, but I’ll take that any day for a smooth flight home..

Gatwick was a breeze to get through, but OMG… the traffic😩 Two hours rolling along to get home 🚘

Now for the mountain of washing 🧺

But first… a cuppa ☕️ and catching up on all my messages. ❤️

Back in the office tomorrow💻✈️

Krakow Day 6 Chochołowskie Termy 💦🏊‍♂️

This place is HUGE and honestly… One of the outdoor bars has a DJ playing 🎶 I’m getting serious Ibiza vibes 😂🎶

I’m making the most of the little bursts of sunshine trying to break through the clouds ☀️ while the boys have gone off to try out the water slides… and they are absolutely loving them 🙌🙌

There are loads of indoor and outdoor thermal pools, whirlpools and water attractions, plus water slides, a lazy river and plenty of places to grab food and drinks🍹🌊

And the outdoor pools come with the most amazing mountain views 🏔️

After a few very busy days of sightseeing, history and LOTS of walking, this is exactly what we needed… a few hours of relaxing, swimming, sunshine (when it decides to appear 😂) and letting the boys burn off some energy🕺🕺

Krakow Day 6 | Zakopane 🏔️🇵🇱❤️

Our first stop was Chochołów, one of the most beautiful traditional villages in southern Poland. 🏡❤️ It’s famous for its historic wooden Highlander houses, many of which are still lived in today. It felt like stepping back in time and was such a lovely place to stop and have a look around.

We then stopped at a traditional shepherd’s hut to experience a little Highlander culture, including a local cheese and vodka tasting! 🧀🥃

I don’t eat cheese, so I was definitely just there for the experience 😂 but Jackson gave it the thumbs up and said it tasted like pizza cheese! 🤣

Then it was time for the funicular/cable car up Gubałówka 🚠🏔️ and the views were absolutely incredible! You can see across the Tatra Mountains and over Zakopane

We had lunch with a view 🍽️🏔️

Then we had some time to explore Zakopane itself. There are loads of shops, restaurants and little stalls, with a real mountain-town feel and a Bavarian-style mountain atmosphere in places. 🏔️🛍️

And now for the part the boys have been looking forward to most…

Krakow Day 6 Zakopane 🏔️🇵🇱

Today we’re off to Zakopane, around 2 hours from Krakow 🚌

Starting with a stop in Chochołów, one of the most beautiful traditional villages in southern Poland. 🏡 It’s famous for its historic wooden Highlander houses, many of which are still lived in today. A lovely chance to see a very different side of Polish life and, of course, get some photos along the way📷

Then it’s on to Zakopane, surrounded by the spectacular Tatra Mountains. 🏔️ We’ll take the funicular/cable car up Gubałówka for those incredible panoramic mountain views before having some free time in the town centre.

I’m hoping for a wander around the shops, maybe some local food and plenty of time just to take in the views and atmosphere 🙏

We’re also getting the chance to experience some traditional Highlander culture with a local cheese and vodka tasting 🧀🥃 definitely something a little different!

And then comes the grand finale… Chocholow Thermal Baths! ♨️😍

We’ve got 3 hours to relax in the geothermal pools, enjoy the outdoor pools and slides, and hopefully soak away some of the miles we’ve clocked up walking around Krakow this week! Boys are most excited for this 🏊‍♂️🏊🏊‍♂️

Chocholow is one of the largest thermal spa complexes in Poland, with naturally heated geothermal waters known for their relaxing and wellness benefits. And with the Tatra Mountains as the backdrop, I can’t think of a better way to finish the day🏔️♨️

Another day exploring, another part of Poland to discover…

Krakow Day 5 | Kazimierz 🇵🇱

A bit grey and rainy today, but that didn’t stop us exploring more of Krakow ☔️

We wandered down to Kazimierz, the historic Jewish Quarter, and spent the morning taking in the atmosphere and learning more about this fascinating area.

We visited the Remuh Synagogue and cemetery, where we saw the incredibly moving “Wall of Tears”, made from fragments of Jewish gravestones recovered from the cemetery. A really poignant reminder of the people and history connected to this place😔

Then it was time for lunch at Hamsa Hummus & Happiness in the square. I had a gorgeous falafel, while Jackson was very excited to try the tagine 😋

Not exactly the most Polish food choices from us today… 🤣🇵🇱 but it was absolutely delicious🙌

After lunch we wandered further around Kazimierz, taking in the cool little streets, amazing street art and colourful graffiti 🎨

We also walked down towards the Vistula River and Father Bernatek Footbridge, famous for its acrobatic sculptures hanging above the river. Such a lovely walk, even in the drizzle.

We then found Singer, such a quirky and atmospheric pub, filled with old Singer sewing machines and so much character🍻

And then came the unexpected highlight… 🤦‍♀️🤣

After doing SO much walking over the last few days, I hadn’t realised just how much wear my trainers had taken. That was until I started walking through the rain today and discovered I had several holes in them! 😳💦

So, an emergency trainer shopping detour was required🤦‍♀️

Hooray for a skateboard shop just off the Main Square that happened to have a comfy enough pair in my size 🙌👟 Crisis averted!

Another lovely day exploring Krakow even if my trainers didn’t quite make it to the end of the holiday🤦‍♀️

Krakow Day 4 | Energylandia 🎢❤️

Wow… what a mega day 🙌

After a couple of very heavy history days, today was all about switching off, having fun and making Jesse’s dreams come true at Energylandia 🎢🎠

And WOW… what an awesome theme park! 🎢 There are rollercoasters everywhere and something for everyone, from little ones to some seriously scary thrill rides😱

The weather was absolutely gorgeous ☀️ and, as you’d expect in the height of summer, it was BUSY…

No messing around, I bought the boys fast passes as soon as we arrived around £50 each and they were worth every penny 😂 They covered 14 of the thrill rides, meaning the boys could get on so much more without spending hours queueing.

And I’m actually pretty proud of myself because… I went on Speed! 🎢🚤💦

We also stumbled across a brilliant car show while we were there 🚗🔥 definitely something the boys enjoyed!

Energylandia is around an hour from Krakow and definitely worth the trip if you have thrill-seekers in your family. It’s officially the boys’ new favourite theme park! 💕

A brilliant day ❤️ Now for the journey back to Krakow 🚝

Krakow Day 4 | Energylandia 🎢🎠❤️

After a couple of very heavy history days, it’s time to lighten the mood and make Jesse’s dreams come true with a trip to Energylandia🎢

We’re up early this morning to catch the train, with Energylandia located around an hour away from Kraków. 🚆

Although, I’m not going to lie… actually buying the train tickets and navigating the station wasn’t quite as easy as I’d hoped 🤦‍♀️And then, just when we thought we’d found our platform, there was a last-minute platform change… so we did what any sensible tourists would do and ran after the crowd🤣🏃‍♀️🚆

But we made it, so hopefully we’ll be there ready for opening time🙏

To say Jesse is excited is a HUGE understatement! He has talked about this theme park numerous times every single day since we booked this holiday… and that was over a year ago! So today is finally the day🥰

Energylandia is Poland’s biggest theme park, packed with huge rollercoasters, water rides, family attractions and plenty to keep thrill-seekers entertained. It also has one of the biggest collections of rollercoasters in Europe… so I think Jesse may have just found his happy place🤩

Here’s hoping it lives up to all the expectations he’s built up over the last year! 🤞🏻

As for me? I’ll mostly be watching, taking approximately a million photos and cheering him on from a safe distance📸🎢

Krakow Day 3 Auschwitz-Birkenau 🖤

Today was one of those days that is almost impossible to put into words.

Myself and Jackson visited Auschwitz-Birkenau, and from the moment we walked through the gates, the weight of what happened here was overwhelming. 💔

Hearing the names of some of the people who were imprisoned here, seeing the photographs and faces covering the walls, and walking through the barracks and basement spaces made the history feel painfully real 😔

The displays were incredibly difficult to see mountains of shoes, suitcases, clothing and personal belongings. Each item belonged to someone who had a life, a family, hopes and dreams. Behind every single object was a person. 💔

Walking through the rooms, the barracks and the gas chambers, there is an overwhelming sense of sadness. Nothing can truly prepare you for standing in the very places where these atrocities happened. 💔

It was emotional, heartbreaking and incredibly humbling.

Walking through Auschwitz-Birkenau is something I don’t think either of us will ever forget. The silence, the stories, the photographs and the sheer scale of what happened here are impossible to comprehend.

You leave carrying the weight of what you have seen, and with an even stronger feeling that these lives, these stories and these people must never be forgotten. 💔
