USED WADERS, END OF SEASON WADER REPAIRS AND SERVICING
Its that crazy time of year again, now that most of the fishing seasons are over, I now have a decent stock of really good used waders, neoprene’s and breathables, nearly all stocking foots this year, and 4 makes of wader. New waders with our unique 2 year warranty are available year round of course.
As always the used waders are sold for half rrp or less, and are sold seamsealed, Repel coated, tested with a years guarantee and UK delivery. We only sell waders we will know will fit properly and are suited to the environment they are to be used in, not all waders are suitable for all environments!

Who would have thought that counterfeit waders were a thing! I suppose everything that costs a reasonable amount is copied these days. I have seen two recently, both effectively junk. On unpacking them and before really looking at them we guessed the make wrong, as the colour was just not right. We then noticed they had the wrong buckles, wrong socks and the seams were in the wrong places. Finally the badge was a cheaper printed one and not the normal embroidered one. We have also started seeing occasional copies of quality mid priced waders but named slightly differently, enough difference that it could be missed and they looked similar, enough to fool you if you did not see every make and model 10 times a day!
On testing them all the seams leaked, but that’s not unusual and is not always the waders fault, sizing, care, abuse and so on can make the seams leak. Seams normally fix no problem. But these were also porous in areas that made no sense to us, in areas that took no real wear. It was just sub standard fabric. As I suspected the repairs were sound and the fabric just failed between the repairs.
I did some research on line and quickly found familiar adverts, the ones I see for fishing and boating kit (my interests) and I expect everyone sees them in their interests on line. The typical closing down sale, 85% off, limited numbers and a range of rave reviews.
I think the bottom line is buy from a trusted source, Quality new products are never sold with 85% off – they don’t need to be. If you get them and they don’t look right, they probably are not.

Well its been a strange wader repair season. One minute its super busy and then we hit a quieter spell. I think the lack of river water and fish is knocking on to less fishing and less waders being punctured. We are really never quiet in May and this week is like november. Last month was crazy busy, busiest ever April. Wader sales both new and used are busy, but i think thats down to our 2 year warrany on the new waders! The used ones sell as fast as i get and process them. Anyway, we are as up to date with repairs as we get, so i think i will get a bit of sea fishing and sailing in, before it goes mad for the Autumn run.

This weeks most common question. How long will it take to repair my waders? Good question, difficult to answer. Make and model make a little difference, neoprenes are slower than breathables. The main thing that makes is what is wrong with them, and obviously a single pin hole will be a far faster repair than a full seamseal with 100 pin holes. However, we do this a lot and on average a full seamseal and loads of pin holes will take 2-3 weeks at this time of year. In summer its faster when they dry and cure faster in the higher ambient temperatures, even though we tend to be busier. That said, in summer its often just a few problems, a small barbed wire rip or a few small leaks after a trip, both fine and quick, whereas closed season repairs tend to be full seamseals, after sitting in a cold shed put away damp at the end of the last season! As they all go through a test, dry, repair, test, dry repeat process, the more they leak the more often they have to go round the circuit, to catch all the tiny leaks that only show as sealing the leaks allows us to increase the pressure.

In summary, we ask 2-3 weeks, sometimes they are quicker, sometimes a little slower, but when I have tested them I can properly advise. We get every make and model of wader in, they all share one of about 5 material and construction techniques, so we can repair basically every wader out there.

This weeks main question has been about our new wader unique 2 year warranty. Its very simple,. All of our new waders have our unique 2-year guarantee. All you do is fish all season and then return them to us at the end of a year / season. We seamseal then test them and if they have no leaks all you pay is the postage. After a year's use your walking gait and fishing style will have left marks, creases and scuffs on the waders. If we seal and strengthen these areas if reduces the risk of these areas breaking down and leaking. After this we are confident enough to give the waders another years guarantee. We repair and seal all warranty leaks at this stage, but matter how many leaks, cuts, pin holes we will repair them at this point for £10 plus postage, and then they have another year’s guarantee.

Well its that time of year again, the calm before the storm of wader repairs, as all the various river fishing seasons start, and folks remember their waders were leaking at the end of last season! We hate rush jobs, so get any repairs in as early as possible. Its also mouse damage season, so i advise checking your waders over well before the start of your season. It often looks worse that it is, and generally fixes well. This before and after shot shows a low cost repair, we did not even need to replace the sock.

2 YEAR WARRANTY AND FREE SEAMSEAL ON ALL NEW WADER SALES
I have been getting a lot of questions about our new wader sales. We give the new waders we sell a 2 year warrantry, and free end of first season seamseal and test. We used to seamseal them as we sold them, but found in the first year your walking gait and fishing style will crease, rub and wear the waders, so seamsealing immediately does not protect these areas., However seamsealing and testing them free at the end of the first season / year protects them and really extends their life. it just makes sense and once we have done this we give them a 2nd years guarantee at OUR expense! We also decided that if they are being returned to us at the end of the first year / season to be sealed then it makes sense to do a deal on any non warranty damage, rips, cuts, holes or whatever, so year 1 all repairs are just £10 plus postage.

I was messing about with Repel on an old salt stained yacht spray hood. I am pleased with the results, as salt is really one of the enemys of a water repellent. It works way better on waders, jackets, outdoor kit in general, tents and so on, and it enhances breathability as it does it. Well today was a busy day. We managed to seal and complete a lot of waders today.
