Set near the top of the Blorenge mountain in the Welsh countryside of Monmouthshire, resides the wonderfully secluded 18th Century cottage, Craig Yr Hafod. Available to rent as a holiday let, guests can sit back and luxuriate in the peaceful, tranquil surroundings of the secluded valley, cuddle up by our open log fire, and drink in the far reaching views of the Welsh countryside surrounding them.

Sleeping up to 8 people, this beautiful property is a charming, rustic getaway for couples, families and groups alike.

😩We’ve had a last-minute cancellation - 22nd November.

The firewood’s stacked, the bed’s are made, and there’s nothing to do except switch off before December gets carried away.

It’s all crisp walks and cosy corners on the mountain at the moment. Autumn has well and truly settled in. 🍂

It’s mushroom season! There are so many different types of fungi growing on the wild land surrounding the cottage at this time of year you can spot them everywhere growing on the branches of trees, hidden in long grasses and coming out of the almost vertical mountainside.

Seasons some how feel more in focus in the mountains. Autumn at the cottage is a time for long walks, lighting the fire and cozying up with a book. It’s also when I could be gathering up logs and storing them somewhere dry for the winter, blue sky today is making me wish I was there.

Crickhowell is a beautiful small town, just 20 mins drive down the road from the cottage. A great spot to go for a dip on a nice aunny day!
