My website will be closing shortly as I am stepping back and the next generation are stepping forward! I would say retiring but as I am just about to spend the day wrapping fleeces as we shear the flock I don't think that quite fits!

Thank you everybody for supporting us. This has been fun and occasionally nerve wracking when things have gone a bit wrong. Mostly fun though and it has been lovely seeing people leaving at the end of their holidays looking relaxed and happy.

A multitude of greens and patches of white (May) blossom.

We are still clearing casualties of the big storm last year. Many can be left and add to the diversity on the forest floor but quite a few fell across fences and have to be removed and the fences repaired. This was a big beech tree.

The pond at the top of the farm is wriggling with tadpoles! I think it's a dew pond and it used to provide the water for the house. It's a steep walk from the cottage but worth it. There are insects, little fish, lots of different native plants and a water lily, not native but I couldn't resist it. Tasty as well, the sheep graze on it (apparently we could as well but I've never tried it and have to be convinced by an expert!). There's also a lovely view all the way around Cardigan bay.

Sarn Cottages, happy holidays!

Croeso, welcome to our perfect little place by the sea!

Our two cottages are set in beautiful countryside on our farm in mid Wales, mid way between Aberystwyth and Borth. We’ve made them snug and cosy for the winters when you can come and enjoy exhilarating storms and wild seas and in the summer we are expecting sand and swimming costumes in the shower and pebbles and shells in forgotten heaps in the garden!

The Greenhouse is a tiny cottage a stones throw (literally) from the beach and the Wales Coast path. The Lodge is a little bigger, with a double room and the option of a small double in another room or travel cot if needed. Unfortunately as a result of the current situation, the Lodge is unavailable for the time being. My daughter, a care worker, is borrowing it! There is a short walk through the fields down our private drive to the beach.

I hope we have everything you need for a relaxing peaceful time. There is beautiful country to explore inland and rocky shores and beaches along the coast path. The farm is a haven for wildlife with ponds, streams and woods as well as open grassy hilltops. On clear days you can look north into Snowdonia or inland to the wide Pumlumon range. There is free wifi in the Lodge but the GreenHouse does not have internet access and mobile reception ranges from variable to none so you can drop out of the world for a few peaceful days. We are however just under five miles from the University town of Aberystwyth with many varied and interesting places to visit and if you go the other way up the coast we are three miles from the little surfing village of Borth.
