There was much excitement onboard on Monday, when we came across a small pod of Dolphins. They were very active and a few swam over to us to say hello. Lovely to see them back in the Loch - let's hope they stay 🐬🐬

The weather was lovely today, overcast but with the odd sunny interval.
It's great watching the adult Eagles nurturing their fledglings and we've seen them out and about on most of our trips recently. Whilst heading down the loch we spotted a Golden Eagle soaring close by so we hovered around and watched that for a short while. A few Porpoises appeared from time to time and there were plenty of seals on the rocks. The Common Terns are still around although there do seem to be fewer now, so they are no doubt starting their migration to Africa.
The Loch was beautiful as ever today and the scenery never fails to amaze.

Yesterdays trip was definitely dominated by the Eagles, with the White Tails being seen first followed by 2 Golden Eagles in different places.
The White-Tailed Eagle chicks have fledged and we found 3 of them. As the youngsters are very dark in colour, they can be difficult to spot, and we wouldn't have seen the one in the seaweed on the shoreline had it not flapped it's wings. It's sibling was sat in a nearby tree, both being watched over by one of the adults. Elsewhere, we saw another adult who took off, gave us a quick fly-by and settled in a tree on the shoreline. We were just about to leave and as we scanned the shoreline, we spotted a different fledgling so watched this for a few minutes - unfortunately I didn't get any usable photos of this one!
Next came the Golden Eagles - one in the distance so it took a while to identify it. The other one did an amazing fly-by over us as we were returning back to the jetty.
All-in-all it was a brilliant trip, with good weather and no rain! We were delighted that we were able to catch up with the progress of the Eagle chicks and lovely to see three of them - the same number as last year!

Yesterday the Dolphins were back and although we've seen them on various occasions this season, it's been intermittent and they haven't shown much interest in us.
Things changed yesterday and while we stopped to watch them, they headed over towards us and swam round the boat for a few minutes. As soon as we headed off, they were surfing on our wake and really enjoying themselves. Eventually they disappeared and we continued on our way.
On the way back, they were on the opposite side of the Loch and the 2nd Video shows their acrobatics. The Terns were ever optimistic that they might manage to get some of their fish and were relentlessly following them around.
We found a couple of White-Tailed Eagles so our guests managed some photo opportunities with those too.
All in all we ended up with some very happy guests and amazingly I actually managed to get some usable video of the Dolphins.

We've been out on some brilliant trips again over the last couple of weeks.
The White-Tailed Eagles have been busy soaring around above us while hunting for their prey so they can feed their Eaglets. On one of the trips, there were 2 White-Tailed Eagles sat in a tree and we suddenly realised that there was a Golden Eagle flying around above them. That's not something that we see very often so there was plenty of excitement.
Lots of chicks are starting to appear and the Eider Ducks have been enjoying bobbing around on the buoys at the Mussel Farm. The Common Seals are currently pupping and they've been particularly enjoying the warmth of the sun in between the clouds.
The scenery on the loch has been amazing and all the 3 peaks on the loch look spectacular.

What amazing weather we had today for our trip. Wall-to-wall sunshine with enough breeze to stop it getting too hot, and a nearly cloudless sky.

The White-Tailed Eagles were enjoying the breeze and were soaring around looking for their prey, and as usual they were being relentlessly mobbed by the Gulls and Terns. The size of them when they fly over us never fails to amaze our guests onboard.

This wonderful weather really shows off the scenery on the loch and we're really looking forward to our next trip out tomorrow!

What a brilliant trip we had yesterday morning. We hadn't been out long before we met the first mini pod of dolphins. It was so calm that the water was like glass and it made spotting any wildlife much easier. The reflections in the water were amazing. Shortly afterwards we came across the first White-Tailed Eagle sat in a tree, scanning to see if it could find any prey. As we headed down the loch we came across another couple of small pods of dolphins and another White-Tailed Eagle, which we were able to see at closer quarters. Towards the bottom end of the Loch there were lots of Seals enjoying a rest on the rocks. Once we'd turned to head back, we heard a shout of Minke Whale!! We don't see these amazing creatures very often on the loch so it was brilliant to watch it heading upstream. After a bit of an explore it turned around and headed back down towards the Sound of Mull, so we moved our attention to a more lively and larger pod of dolphins, which we'd spotted as we were watching the Minke Whale. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any footage of the Whale and I haven't found anything decent of the dolphins yet but I'll keep looking.

All in all, with the lovely weather, although a little bit cool in places, and the amazing wildlife, we had a brilliant trip. Lets hope the Dolphins decide to stay as they did last season!

We had another great trip out this morning, which started with flat calm conditions. The cloud was lying low as we set off and Beinn Resipol was hiding but later in the trip the sun won through and with a bit of a breeze, the low cloud moved on and we had stunning views of all 3 peaks on Loch Sunart (Beinn Resipol, Beinn Laga and Beinn Hiant).

There was plenty of wildlife including a White-Tailed Eagle, Great Northern Diver, Black Throated Diver, and Guillemots, Canada Geese, Oystercatchers and Seals. The Grey Herons look to still be busy building their nests and were flying in and out of the Heronry.

We're back to windy conditions for a few days now so we're keeping fingers crossed for some calmer weather next week!

A weather window on Thursday morning allowed us to head out on our first boat trip of the season. It was great to be back out on the water and we were able to catch up with all the wildlife. There are plenty of birds passing through at the moment including Guillemots and Mergansers. The Canada and Greylag Geese are back and the Grey Herons have started building/repairing their nests. The Shags are in their breeding plumage and many other birds are now starting to pair up ready for breeding. We caught sight of a couple of the White-Tailed Eagles, much to everyone's excitement.

This was one of the rare trips where there was snow on the hills and Beinn Resipol looked stunning, although it's top was shrouded in cloud.

We're looking forward to watching the colours change on the loch as we head into Spring and seeing the new wildlife arrivals over the next few months.

It was lovely and calm today for our boat trip, with plenty of sunshine although it was cool at times when the sun went in. We had the heater on in the cabin to allow our guests to warm up if needs be and this was very welcome. At one point we had a small shower and this created an amazing double rainbow just behind the boat. The Autumn colours are amazing out on the loch at the moment and particularly when its sunny the scenery is stunning.

There was lots of wildlife around and unbelievably we are still seeing Dolphins although they were busy feeding today. We caught a couple of White-Tailed Eagles in flight and one was skimming just above the water, which showed the sheer size of these birds. We had some very excited guests onboard who had been coming up here for years and never managed to see an Eagle at close quarters so they were delighted - lots of photo opportunities!

There are plenty of Guillemots in the loch at the moment along with the Great Northern Divers making a return. Lots of deer were on the hilltops and the Red Deer Stags who had returned to the shoreline were looking rather tired after the rut!
