Where to see this view 👇🏻

This is the Milford Sound Swing, only a 10-15 minute walk from the large car parks for the cruises.

You’ll walk along a paved path and boardwalk for a bit, and then it’ll become sandy and forested.

The path is NOT marked, but you can see a spot on the right where people have walked that connects to the beach (I recommend following Google Maps so you know when you should turn)

It makes for a perfect way to fill time if you arrive early for your boat cruise, or for after!

We went before one of the morning departures in shoulder season and pretty much had the place to ourselves 🤗

👇🏻 Everything you need to know to have the BEST experience at the ✨Edinburgh Fringe Festival✨

The Fringe Festival is the largest arts festival in the world, and takes over Edinburgh every August

These 10 tips will help you have the BEST experience and thrive during this chaotic (but amazing) festival

Don’t forget to FOLLOW .a.little.more for all the Scotland content to help you have the best trip ever!

✨ Download the Ed Fringe app to search shows, book tickets, and navigate to the venue and food spots
✨ Carry cash - as not all performers can accept electronic payment
✨ Do NOT over schedule and leave space for spontaneity
✨ Allow at least 30 minutes between shows
✨ Embrace the chaos of the Fringe. Once you get in the flow of it, it’s sooooo fun 🤩
✨ Accept that you will experience decision fatigue. Pick what interests or excites you
✨ Line up 1+ hours early for shows at the large venues like Assembly Hall
✨ Pace yourself! The Fringe is a marathon, not a sprint - especially if you are visiting for multiple days
✨ Know your goals: seeing the biggest shows, finding hidden gems, scheduling shows around sightseeing
✨ Support the performers any way you can (tip, share on social media, leave a review, etc.)

Happy Fringe!

Comment “TRAIN” for a list of tour operators currently offering tickets to the Jacobite steam train 🚂 (these will sell out FAST!)

BIG update on the Jacobite steam train (Hogwarts Express) for the 2026 season!

As of June 1st, the Jacobite has resumed operating for the 2026 season - but ONLY for tour operators that offer tickets for large groups

I heard that they are also allowing the general public to purchase tickets onsite the day of, but none of this has been confirmed on the West Coast Railways website

This is a positive move towards operating for the 2026 season though, and hopefully this means tickets for the general public will be available soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Not to toot my own horn…but also…toot toot 🎺

After years of planning trips to Scotland, I’ve realized something: by the end of a Discovery Call (what I call the initial consultation), I can usually already see what a client’s trip is going to look like.

Once I hear about your travel style, interests, and what you’re excited about, it starts to click. The routes, which castles you’ll love, the landscapes will make your jaw drop, and how to structure the trip so it actually flows well.

I’m not naturally someone who loves to brag (I usually feel like there’s always more to learn), but this is one area where I can confidently say…I’ve got a lot of experience. And I love helping people plan trips that feel like they were made just for them.

✨ If you’re dreaming about Scotland, you can schedule a complimentary Discovery Call through the link in my bio and we’ll start mapping out your trip.
