🐅 YOUR MINI GUIDE TO TIGER SPOTTING IN INDIA 🐅

India is home to over 70% of the world’s wild tiger population, and a handful of national parks make seeing one a real (if never guaranteed) possibility. Here’s what to know before you go:

📍 WHERE TO GO
Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan, is one of India’s best for sightings thanks to open terrain and a healthy tiger population moving through dry teak forest and ancient ruins. Bandhavgarh and Kanha in Madhya Pradesh are also excellent, with denser jungle and their own strong track records.

🕐 WHEN TO GO
November to April is peak season, dry conditions push tigers toward waterholes, making them easier to spot. April and May, right before monsoon, often bring the highest sighting rates as water sources shrink.

🚙 HOW IT WORKS
Game drives run in shared or private jeeps, morning and afternoon, usually with an English-speaking naturalist. Sightings are never guaranteed, that’s the nature of the wild, but parks like Ranthambore have some of the best odds anywhere in the world. Along the way, keep an eye out for leopard, sloth bear and marsh crocodile too.

🎒 GOOD TO KNOW
Book your safari zones early, they’re limited and fill up fast in peak months. Neutral clothing, a good zoom lens and patience go a long way.
