Another fun session with the queen of sassyness😂, Chawton House is a lovely place to fly the barn owls, they seem very content exploring and finding good perches.

Start of the hunting season, the cover is still way too thick with it being so warm, hard work but it doesn’t stop Casper doing his thing.
The pheasants belong to me and are released because I enjoy caring for them and like to see them in the woods the wild raptors, foxes and badgers all eat them and we catch a few for food for me and the hawks.
So please before voicing any distaste for the fact we hunt, it’s a natural process and it’s a bird of prey, Casper was just doing what his DNA programmed him to do. Far better for him physically and mentally. The pheasant was just unlucky. That’s natures way. If hunting is not for you I understand but please just scroll past, my experience aims to show a bird of prey acting as it should, it’s not a display. Thanks 👍

Yeah, we passed our inspection and have been granted a new licence. 😁🥳

Hobnob is learning the walk routes and her focus is improving. I am showing her all Wilfred’s favourite perching spots 😁 I am very pleased with the progress of both Hobnob and Wispa, consistency is key

Inspection day tomorrow for our licence, the birds have all had a bath and a sunbathe , I am making sure my paperwork is all ready for inspection and although I know I spend every waking moment making sure my birds have the best possible housing, clean them all daily, fly and feed them so they live the best life, I will still worry that my efforts are not enough. Let’s see what the inspector thinks 🤔

Wilf took us to meet his sheep friends on our walk this afternoon, it was perfect vole hunting conditions and he took us to all his favourite spots. Despite a number of attempts alas he didn’t catch his own tea, but that’s where humans with a bag of tasty mousy treats are a bonus 😊

Sound up for this one, a late walk with Hobnob as it was getting dark, she flew beautifully and then we stumbled upon a couple of her wild cousins. Lovely end to the day. Goosebumps as you hear them calling and seeing her reactions. I don’t think we are welcome there not entirely sure what all the chatting was about 🤔
