Hampshire Hawk Walks

Hampshire Hawk Walks I specialise in one to one natural falconry experiences with my team of hawks and barn owls based in North Hampshire.

I aim to give you a true hands on experience of being a falconer and a deeper understanding of birds of prey and seeing them hunt.

Just loving imprinting little Wispa, she is just just a lovely natured barn owl. She’s like having a little shadow 🥰

We have been teaching children in year 7 at Frensham Heights this week, Hobnob has been great and taken it all@in his stride, we used the lovely field at lunchtimes to do some training flights, thanks to Ronnie for helping today.

Diddly had the opportunity to be a superstar at our annual visit to Frensham Heights School today, however I learned that Diddly will be a naughty little sprout even at 0.1 oz over his usual flying weight, he just laughed at us and went and enjoyed a couple of hours preening in a tree, higher up than he’s ever flown before! so there is a positive, his flying ability is improving, even if he did ignore us so for about 2 hours 🙄, thankfully the old pros London and Wilf were on hand to save the day and the pupils all got a bird to fly to them, just not naughty Mr Squat

Unfortunately it has been confirmed by my vet that Echo does have cancer, I knew in my heart something was not right and alas it is a tumor on his shoulder joint.
Sadly there is very little we can do in terms of treatment, so we will monitor and manage and when he is showing me it’s uncomfortable we will have to do what’s in his best interest. That might be in a few weeks it might be months, all I can do is continue to give him the best life and love him for being the funniest and most endearing little chatterbox that he is.
I feel so lucky that I have had the opportunity to have him in my team and he has brought so much pleasure to many in his life during experiences, he will leave a huge hole , thank you to Sadie for letting him come and live with us,

A trip into the woods for young Hobnob today 😊

I took Hobnob to the farm yesterday, lots of new things to see and hear, it was a bit too warm for him so we stopped in the shade and he sat on a post and had a good old look around. Wings dropped to help him cool down, look at those funny long legs🤣🥰

Life is throwing me a few curve balls at the moment, it has a habit of testing us and reminding us that we have to enjoy the now as you never know what is around the corner.
Echo has a lump on his wing which could well be Cancer, it’s a wait till next week to find out biopsy results, he’s the most amazing chap I am just hoping it’s something we can treat 🤞
