A glorious day on Scafell Pike yesterday. Thanks to our guide Dave for looking after the Pandya family and getting them off the beaten track on what was no doubt a very busy Wasdale :-)

Today we've been on Scafell Pike with Fiona and Barney, her 5 year old Border Collie.
Some wonderful views, although the summit was shrouded in cloud. A brutally cold wind blew but thankfully only one very brief shower. All in all a good day out and a big tick for Fiona :-)

Last night we snuck up Scafell Pike under the cover of darkness. Helping Jess complete the 3 Peaks challenge and tonight accompanied by her dad Mick.
Beautiful conditions up there with no cloud, only an occasional breeze, and far reaching views to Scotland, the Isle of Man, most of Cumbria, Lancashire, and Yorkshire.

Thanks to our guide Dave for looking after Laura & Co on Scafell Pike today. Looks like it may have been a bit nippy up there, but all clearly well prepared.
They ascended via Brown Tongue, but then took a more scenic route via Styhead to return.

Are you considering a walk up Scafell Pike and would you like some help with it? We offer guiding from all the valleys to the summit of this and any other Lake District mountain. Please get in touch for more information.

Winter has made a comeback here in the Lakes. The Scafell range is currently covered in snow, although not deep and spikes were not needed today as the snow was soft. This is likely to change overnight, so for anyone thinking of going up high tomorrow, winter specific kit should be carried or turn back when it gets icy.

We had a cracking walk today with a father and son team from Kent. Managing to time our ascent to fit in with the dry weather window and this made for a much more pleasant ascent. Wind chill was severe at times. Jackets were on the whole time, as were winter hats and gloves.
Incredible views and I reckon the guys will be enjoying a couple of beers in the pub this eve with some good tales to tell of a fine and wold day spent in the mountains :-)

All 4 seasons on the Pike today with the Rogers family from Cambridgeshire. Warm sunshine, a cooling breeze, cold and gusting wind, a smattering of snow, gale force winds, rain, and back to warm sunshine.
Temperature difference from valley to summit level was probably about 15'C when factoring in the icy wind chill. Maybe about minus 10'C.
Go well prepared folks. As part of a walkers kit-list, a small shelter is well worth having. We always carry one and today came close to needing it for warmth during an unplanned stop. Had we needed to stop for much longer and the shelter would have been a necessity rather than a luxury.

We enjoyed wonderful views throughout the walk today, so despite the cold wind, the weather has been kind to us.

Back on The Big Hill today with 4 lovely people preparing for a Kilimanjaro trek later this year. Fair to say Scafell Pike provide all weathers and all types of conditions underfoot.
We set out from Burnthwaite Farm B&B and Holiday Cottage and aimed for the Piers Gill path to reach The Corridor Route. This is a very dramatic route with massive crags nearby and the gash of Piers Gill never far away. A dusting of snow up top and an icy wind that picked up to be quite significant. For our descent we continued the theme of staying away from the crowds by heading over to Lingmell.
What a fab day out in the mountains. Sandwiches and cake from Burnthwaite Farm B&B and Holiday Cottage were a winner too :-)

Scafell Pike from Wasdale today helping our friends at Lake District Mountaineering guiding a family to the summit via the Lingmell Col route.
Busy on the mountain today which is understandable given the amazing weather. Lots of good chat and friendly banter all round. Good times :-)

A cracking day on the Scafell range today with Holland & Barrett - we summited Broad Crag (934m) and Ill Crag (935m) and enjoyed stunning views all day. Teamwork levels were incredibly high, with everyone looking after each other when the terrain got tough. So good to see and be a part of.
Thanks for choosing us to help with this adventure.

Really nice to see some of my photos in the new Costa Blanca Rockfax 🙂
And our once local crag of L'Ocaive getting the recognition it deserves with a front cover slot (not my shot). An underrated crag that offers some fantastic routes throughout the grade spectrum.
Might just have to order a copy now!
