I have now been running the Amersham Ghost Tour for over ten years. During that time, countless new reports of strange activity have been shared with me by locals and visitors alike. These accounts have gradually expanded the scope of the tour, adding fresh layers to the stories already rooted in the town’s past.
As the years went on, it became clear that I could no longer include everything in a single evening. New information meant difficult decisions, and some elements had to be set aside to make room for stronger, more compelling material. For a while I considered creating a second part to the ghost tour so that nothing would be lost and every story could be properly told.
Then, last Halloween, the solution came to me. Instead of simply extending the paranormal side, I would create an alternative experience altogether. Not everyone is comfortable with the subject of ghosts and the unexplained, and that is entirely understandable. Amersham, however, does not rely on the supernatural to provide darkness. Its documented history is filled with persecution, suffering, crime and tragedy.
The result is a tour dedicated purely to the darker chapters of the town’s past. No spirits, no speculation, just real events and real people whose stories deserve to be remembered.
In short, after more than a decade of leading ghost walks, this new venture allows me to share the full breadth of Amersham’s shadowed history, ensuring that nothing of importance is left untold.
