A little slice of Anglesey fame! 😄

Did you know one of the world's most famous railway stations is right here on Anglesey?

📍 Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

Yes, that's the real name. And no, we didn't fall asleep on the keyboard! 😂

Often shortened to Llanfair PG, it's famous for having one of the longest place names in the world and attracts visitors from across the globe who come to see the station sign, grab a photo and have a go at pronouncing it.

The name roughly translates to:

"St Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel near the fierce whirlpool and the Church of St Tysilio by the red cave."

Whether you can say it or not, it's a fun stop when exploring Anglesey and is only around 30 minutes from Gwendon. And while you're there, it's worth popping into James Pringle Weavers and Hootons Homegrown next door. They're great for Welsh gifts, local produce, souvenirs and the sort of treats that somehow find their way home with you! 🛍️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

A day of jobs at Gwendon... 🔧🌊 The weather wasn't exactly on our side yesterday, but today was much more productive!

✅ Front door replaced under warranty after the sea air took its toll on the original finish.
✅ Smart lock replaced and reprogrammed after the fingerprint reader gave up the ghost.
✅ Old pergola dismantled after years of service, with some of the timber finding a new life repairing a fence.
✅ Several hours of back-breaking weeding... with absolutely no photographic evidence to prove it ever happened! 😅

Not the most glamorous jobs, but they're all part of keeping Gwendon looking its best. We think the new front door looks rather smart though. 😊

Max and Orla are absolutely settled into Gwendon life nicely 🐾💤☀️

From sofa snoozes and garden zoomies to coastal adventures and sunset watching… safe to say they’ve got this holiday thing mastered 😍. Their humans kindly sent us the most beautiful sunset photo from the garden last night and honestly… evenings like this are exactly why we love Gwendon so much 🌅

✨ A rare July week has just opened up…

17–24 July is now available at Gwendon due to a cancellation.

Right on the cusp of the summer holidays, this is one of those weeks that tends to get snapped up quickly.

That coastal path in the photo? It’s right outside the house…

Spot the pointer … 👀🐶 Actually, make that two pointers - Keats & Tetley, who clearly remembered exactly where they were the second they arrived back at Gwendon 😂.

From standing guard in the garden waiting for ball time 🥎… to straight back onto the beach like seasoned locals, these two have settled in as though they never left.

We always say dogs remember the good holidays too ❤️. Did you find one of them in the garden straight away? 👀
