We will have some time in Burford in The Cotswolds before heading to Highgrove.

Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla call Highgrove their private residence. While the house remains off-limits to the public, they open the gates to the enchanting gardens between April and October each year. This allows visitors to experience the beauty and inspiration that Their Majesties hold so dear.

Over the past 40 years, a series of interlinked gardens have blossomed at Highgrove, each reflecting The King’s artistic touch and nurtured with imagination and passion. Managed organically and with sustainability in mind, these havens have become vital habitats for diverse wildlife.

In 2021, stewardship of Highgrove Gardens passed to The King’s Foundation.

We enjoy a fabulous afternoon tea in the conservatory before our fascinating garden tour led by an experienced guide.

We sill see the stumpery, wild flower meadow and so much more.

The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton is anything but ordinary—it’s a fine dining experience tucked inside a working prison, with a powerful mission behind every plate.

Here we will enjoy an award winning three course lunch served by the prisoners themselves.

Located in the old Governor’s House, built in 1819, within HMP Brixton. The restaurant seats around 120 guests and features elegant touches like leather upholstery made by prisoners at HMP Frankland. It’s air-conditioned and designed to feel welcoming and professional—despite its very unusual location.

Operated by The Clink Charity, the restaurant trains up to 30 prisoners full-time in hospitality. Participants work toward City & Guilds NVQs in food preparation, service, and hygiene.

The goal? To reduce reoffending by equipping prisoners with skills and confidence for life after release.

The menu showcases seasonal British cuisine with a contemporary twist. Ingredients are often sourced from the prison gardens, emphasizing freshness and sustainability.

As the restaurant is located within a Category-C prison, security checks must be completed on all people visiting before a booking reservation can be confirmed. All visitors must be over 18. All diners must bring their photo ID (driving license or passport).

On your way home, we will take you on a sightseeing tour of London.

Widely felt to be one of the best events of its type in the Country.
Step back in time to the days of the blitz, rationing and utility clothing.
One weekend a year, in September, the seaside town of Sheringham goes back several decades to the 1940s.

Centred around the North Norfolk Railway, The Poppy Line, the station provides a great backdrop for the comings and goings of people all dressed in vintage costumes and with steam trains and heritage buses running all day.

By far the biggest event of its kind in Norfolk. Military and civilian vehicles, music, dancing, ration food, re-enactments and of course an intensive steam hauled train service.

Dress up in the period to really feel like you have been transported back in time.
This is one of those events you really shouldn’t miss!

Come in uniform or 1940s civilian dress to add to the atmosphere.
The Renactors Parade is open to anyone in 1940’s regalia. Anyone wishing to participate in the foot procession should convene at the Lobster pub and line up along Wyndham Street before 4 p.m.
The procession will proceed up the High Street to the Town Clock and up Station Road to the main car park (near the North Norfolk Railway Station

The 1940s weekend also encompasses the town of Sheringham and Holt with a vast amount of entertainment taking place on the stations of Sheringham, Weybourne and Holt and venues in the towns.
You may decide to catch a Heritage Bus to Holt where the Town celebrates the wartime efforts of allied forces and the remarkable resilience shown by those who dealt with the hardships of life on the Home Front.

Feel the excitement, fear, hope and bravery of the Blitz. Smell the Golden Age of Steam.
You also get to enjoy the great British Seaside.
