Ashburton's Ale Tasting and Bread Weighing ceremony celebrates a tradition that dates from the 13th century. The event entertains participants and onlookers and helps to raise funds to support local causes. This year the money raised will help to fund a public defibrillator.

Enjoying a quiet moment at the before the busy Jubilee week!

On Saturday 4th June they will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a traditional garden party! Royal and Duchess cream teas will be available between 2-4pm, and why not test your knowledge in a Royal quiz? With garden games running all afternoon and throughout the evening, there will be prizes and something enjoyable for all ages. A BBQ will continue the celebrations into the evening, 5.30-8.30pm cooking time.

When you choose a Portreeve's Pick whilst dining out at participating pubs and restaurants in Ashburton, part of the proceeds are donated to important local causes. So not only will you be supporting local businesses, but you will also be raising money to help our community!

The Ashburton 10k website has now been updated with this year's details and link to the entry site for those that would like to compete.

Don't underestimate this run from the centre of Ashburton, through the lanes and surrounding countryside and finishing, once again, in the heart of the town with supportive crowds and a carnival atmosphere.
