Horne’s Place Oast & Barn is very much a family-friendly property. Here are bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 to prove it. These are designed as the kid’s rooms (though there are family rooms too if you prefer to sleep in together).

Each has space for two or three kids in bunks or twins; the perfect place for siblings and cousins to bunk in together in family holidays in the Kent countryside.

After swimming in the pool, playing football in the garden, swinging, sliding and seesawing in the kid’s play area, rowing boats on the lake, playing table tennis and beating you at board games… we think they’ll sleep well! 🤸

Awwww - look at them! Some of our four-legged friends at Horne’s Place Oast! 🐾

If these guys could talk they would probably tell you that they love being able to stay with the rest of the family at Horne’s Place Oast.

They might say it was great to have an enclosed lawn to run around on and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. They surely wouldn’t forget to mention all the countryside walks to dog-friendly pubs like The Ferry Inn, less than two miles away either.

And they might even tell you about the cosy indoor spaces they enjoyed too - places where they could curl up in front of at the fire the end of the day to dream about the next day’s adventures.

We welcome up to four dogs at our holiday home in the Kent countryside - and we’d love to welcome yours!

The kitchen is said to be the heart of the house and that’s very true of Horne’s Place Oast & Barn. 🩵

It’s the first room most guests head for on arrival and, after a welcome cup of tea - or popping the cork for something stronger, some people hardly leave. And who can blame them?

Our combined kitchen-dining room offers a double aspect - looking out on the driveway towards the Appledore countryside and, at the back, across the garden and the children’s play area.

There’s space for all 25 guests to sit together around the dining table and the kitchen is well equipped to cater to everyone too.

It’s in this room that long, lazy breakfasts are enjoyed. It’s where celebratory dinners are put together, where board games are played and where the world is put to rights when the kids have gone to bed. It’s where memories are made. 🩵

“Do you provide towels for the pool?” 🏊🏻‍♀️

Once guests have booked - that ⬆️ is one of the most frequently asked questions guests have before they arrive.

And the answer is: “Yes!”

There’s a striped blue and white pool towel for you and each one of your guests - up to our max capacity of 25.

They are in addition to the 25 fluffy white bath towels and hand towels we provide in the house for your 🛁 or 🚿

Hopefully it all makes packing for your holiday here in the Kent countryside that little bit easier!

Oh - and the pool is indoor, heated, 10 metres long, 1.4 deep and all yours for the duration of your stay! Likewise the hot tub.

Tea, coffee and local tipple to welcome today’s guests to Horne’s Place Oast! 🫖 ☕️ 🍾

We love being able to offer wine from the Kent countryside to our guests. Did you know the Chapel Down vineyard is just a few miles down the road from us? And Gusbourne Vineyard is virtually next door.

In fact, we are in the heart of English wine country here and there are plenty to choose from…

Ham Street Wines and Warehorne Vineyard are three miles away. Wayfarer Wines and the Woodchurch Wine Estate are not much further. That’s six vineyards all within 10 miles!
