We take great care into assuring you get the maximum out of your Carter Company cycling and walking tours and mark Points of Interest icons on your routes to highlight interesting and historical buildings, musea, stunning beaches and ridges, refreshment options, bike shops, and so much more. Each one containing history, websites, phone numbers, opening hours and much more. At pivotal times we also add verbal CUE's so you don't miss important info or detours to gardens, waterfalls, hidden architectural gems or the best pub lunch en route.

You can either check your routes the evening before and decide which stops/detours, restaurant or pub menu appeals to you the most or just decide on the day.

🌟Lyme Regis🌟 in Dorset is a real gem, or should we say a real Ammonite? Often referred to as the 'Pearl of Dorset', its striking landscape, thriving food scene and wonderful beaches which are also a treasure trove of fossils. Fossil 'hunting' is a popular sport here and you can find them either on the beach, on the Ammonite Pavement (aka Graveyard) or if strapped for time, in one of the many cute shops lining the High Street. It’s been a bit quiet on our social of late. The Carter Team has been very busy preparing your tours and making sure we can do all we can to assure you have a brilliant time.

During the recent bank holiday weekend we all ventured out into The Cotswolds to do some much needed walking and time away from our desks. Needless to say, the temperatures got to us a little bit but what a lovely weekend that was!

There are a multitude of historical buildings in the UK that date back centuries and form an integral part of the beauty in the landscape you walk or cycle through on our tours. Their crooked and ancient doors, single pane windows and sometimes slightly off kilter facades betraying the test of time on its foundations. When you look at some of them , you can almost 'hear' them sighing under the pressure.

Did you know that the oldest building in England dates back to 597 AD and is located in Canterbury? Funnily enough it is not the cathedral but St Martin’s Church founded by St Augustine himself!
