We had so much fun that weekend! GrAviemore riding, the afterparty and welcoming guests from down south who left as new friends.

A weekend of finding flow, living slow and putting the world to rights by the fire. The best kind of weekend 🙏

Thanks to Stolen Goat for having the curiosity to travel up north and meet the guys they designed jerseys for and to introduce Raz Marsden & Alec Seaman to us.

1987, working for my brother (right) when I met Martin (middle) who suggested we should commute together. Me on my 21" pink Saracen something and grunge jumper (I beat the trend), him ... well.

Within a VERY short period of time, Martin had me into Sunday club runs, joining Glenmarnock and understanding that riding a bike, for me, means something way more than sport/hobby. It is a way of life. Thank you Martin ❤️

Reminded recently how easily even the most experienced, skilled and knowledgeable rider can have an off.

When out for a few-hours-skelp, this lot fits easily into a hip pack with space left for a rain jacket, pork pie (well, there always has to be room for one of those!) phone and other stuff.

It costs very little and weights the same but can stop leaks (including big ones), keep you warm, topped up on energy and able to call for help if needed.

Well Being for me is a full heart, easy mind and knowing all my family and friends are healthy and happy. Given there is always flux and stuff to deal with in that matrix, I build up a bank of golden moments like this to fall back on … riding awesome bikes around doorstep trails on crisp winter days with a furry companion who is daft as a brush, sharp as a tack & fiercely loyal, all at the same time.

I’m going to be more like a Collie in 2024 🐾🤟
