If you were looking across the Isle of Skye or standing in Mar Lodge Estate in the Cairngorms right now, you would see this exact colour stretching over the hills and moorland.

As part of our rebrand, we looked to the native textures and the quiet richness of Scotland to inspire our new colour palette.

Late every summer, acres upon acres of Highland moorland transform into a blanket of muted purple. It was only natural that this seasonal spectacle would find a place in our identity.

The same Wilderness Scotland you know and love, now dressed in the colours of the country we explore and experience every day.

Have you ever seen a cloud inversion from above? It’s pure magic.

A cloud inversion occurs when the atmosphere flips its normal rules, creating a giant, invisible "lid" of warm air that traps heavy, cold air near the surface. When that trapped cold air is full of moisture, it forms a stunning ocean of low-hanging clouds or fog that you can hike above.

And autumn is one of the best times to see a cloud inversion in Scotland.

As the end of August approaches and heather blooms across Scotland, it can only mean one thing: autumn approaches.

For a short period, the country is painted bright jewel tones, as hillsides are burnished gold and the setting sun illuminates warm tones in the trees.

Share this with someone who can’t wait to fall in love with autumn.

Same name, same company, same passion for the wild places of Scotland, just with a fresh palette inspired by the landscapes that surround us.

Swell is the deep, slate-indigo that settles over ancient standing stones as dusk falls across the Western Isles. It’s the colour of mountain horizons just before the stars appear, and deep sea lochs under an Atlantic sky.

What does this twilight shade bring to mind for you?

Late summer is Scotland's main character moment.

This is what it looks like right now. The heather's peaking, and for a few short weeks the whole highlands turn violet before autumn takes it all back.

A season this short deserves to be seen.

Our guides have been out and about across Scotland with our lovely clients this summer. Here are just a few of our favourite moments from their adventures in July, stretching from the Isle of Skye and Orkney to Torridon and the Cairngorms.

July into late summer offers a dramatic transformation, and it won’t be long now until the moors and hillsides turn bright with purple heather in bloom.

Keep your eyes peeled for our heather updates, coming soon.
