Something very special happened in the Highlands this weekend. 🔥🌿
Our latest Women Empowerment Movement brought together an incredible group of women for a weekend of healing, connection, nature and fire.
It was also a huge moment for Ksenia, our Women Empowerment Lead, as she delivered our new healing approach and led the entire weekend herself for the first time.
And what these women created together was powerful.
They empowered Ksenia. They empowered each other. They created a sacred space filled with trust, strength, laughter, emotion and connection.
Women empowering women. Nature. Fire. Connection.
This is the Women Empowerment Movement.
As always we are indebted to for their passion and undeniable compassion they have for what we do; we transform lives TOGETHER ❤️🔥🕊️🌿

This little triangle in the waiting room has taken weeks to figure out.

It’s got membrane, batten, corten roofing, flashings, lead saddle, ridge, counter batten, Doug fir cladding and then the soffits. All sat on a big pegged oak truss.

What a faff making a new building perform like a new, fat plastic modern building while looking like an old draughty elegant building while making it out of sustainable materials and also being breathable and finishing it nicely.

Especially when it’s just me and I don’t turn up very often. 😀

There isn’t much can stand in the way of a hungry pine marten.

A minute silence for Brian the bantam. He couldn’t see anything past his haircut so would have been totally defenceless. And we lost some of Johns chicks.

Activist: "The data shows your family sits on millions in real estate. It’s only fair that this wealth is subject to the inheritance tax like any other massive estate."

Farmer: "Do you know what my actual paycheck was last year?"

Activist: "I don't have your tax returns, but it’s clearly substantial."

Farmer: "It was nineteen thousand. And that was wiped out the second the transmission went on the harvester."

Activist: "But the equity is there. You are, by definition, a millionaire."

Farmer: "I’m a millionaire who can barely afford groceries. That wealth is locked in the mud. To get a single pound out of it, I have to sign the deed over to a developer, which means the family legacy ends with me."

Activist: "Nobody is saying sell the whole thing. Just liquidate a small percentage to cover the tax."

Farmer: "You can’t run an engine if you sell off the cylinders. A downsized farm isn’t sustainable; it loses the scale it needs to survive. You chip away at the edges to appease the tax collector, and within a generation, the whole enterprise is dead."

Activist: "The market dictates the value. That's just economics."

Farmer: "Out-of-state billionaires wanting a private hunting retreat dictate the value. They drive the prices into the stratosphere, and I’m left holding a tax bill I can’t pay based on their playground rates."

Activist: "Capital is still capital."

Farmer: "It’s a workshop, not a bank vault. You’re looking at the price of the factory floor and assuming the labourer is rich. Come help me birth a calf in a freezing sleet storm before dawn, and tell me if you see a millionaire standing there."
