Barbados bound 💗

One of my lovely repeat clients was originally heading to Dubai, but when their plans changed we pressed pause and took time to really rethink what they wanted as a family.

Fast forward, and they are now jetting off to beautiful Barbados, taking three rooms at the gorgeous Cobblers Cove on the west coast: pastel-pink walls, palm-framed pool, elegant suites and that laid-back Caribbean glamour right on the beach.

What I love most about this booking is not just the destination or the hotel (although Cobblers Cove is pretty special), it is the trust behind it. My client knew I’d put her family first when things were uncertain, and came back when she was ready to dream again.

I’ve got to admit… I absolutely LOVE what I do. I get to run my own travel business, work with the most amazing clients, and talk holidays all day. Not bad for a day job!

Yesterday I dived into the world of romance: starting my day among the vines at in Hungerford with , hearing from inspiring partners like Simpson Travel, Audley Travel, St Kitts, Fairmont Barbados, St Vincent & the Grenadines, the Mar-Bella Collection in Corfu, Coral Beach in Cyprus and dreamy Turks & Caicos.

From sun-soaked islands to chic Mediterranean hideaways, these are some of the most beautiful backdrops for weddings and honeymoons. I rounded off the day closer to home at a small, intimate wedding fayre at The Old Chapel in Bierton with , bursting with ideas for couples looking to say “I do” in unforgettable style.

Sometimes “above and beyond” means helping you change direction, not just change dates.

I’m currently working with a lovely family who decided they no longer felt comfortable travelling close to the Middle East for their upcoming holiday.

Their new brief:
Close to home, but not a typical resort scene, somewhere a little more discerning with fantastic food, a great kids’ club, and that perfect balance of relaxation and days out exploring.

That is exactly why I recommended Jumeirah Port Soller on the beautiful north-west coast of Mallorca.

Think clifftop sunsets, refined Mediterranean style, and views across the Tramuntana mountains and the sea. Parents can truly unwind by the pool or in the spa, while the children are happily entertained in the kids’ club. Evenings can be spent enjoying incredible cuisine, wandering into Port de Sóller for an ice cream or a cocktail, or heading out to explore charming Mallorcan villages nearby.

It feels a world away, yet is only a short flight from the UK: no typical “resort strip” atmosphere, just relaxed, sophisticated, family-friendly luxury in a stunning setting. I also really rate what Jumeirah are offering here in terms of service and experiences, so it fits their wish for something special without being showy.

Thailand – family-friendly, long-haul with school holidays

Save this for your next school holiday adventure ✨🐘🌴

If your teens are ready for something a bit more exciting than the usual fly-and-flop, Thailand is such a good option for families.

Think buzzing cities, jungle adventures and then easy beach time at the end.

Start in Bangkok:
Tuk-tuk rides through the city, long-tail boats along the river, night markets and a couple of wow-factor temples. Stay in family-friendly hotels with rooftop pools, so you get city views by day and sky bars for the grown-ups by night. It is colourful, full of energy and brilliant for teens who like to be on the go.

Then fly up to Chiang Mai in the north:
Swap skyscrapers for mountains and jungle. Try zip-lining, gentle hikes, cycling, cooking classes and night bazaars. You can also include an ethical elephant experience where you watch these incredible animals in a more natural environment, without riding or hands-on contact.

Finish with some proper beach time:
Head to one of Thailand’s family-friendly beach areas, like Krabi, Khao Lak or Koh Lanta. Think shallow waters, boat trips to nearby islands, snorkelling, and lazy afternoons by the pool. For an extra treat, I can suggest family-friendly villas and suites with private pools, so you have your own space to spread out and relax.

Thailand works especially well for the Christmas and Easter holidays, and can also be an option for October half term depending on the region.
