Did you know this week is Community Rail Week? 🚆

Community Rail Week celebrates the value of community rail and the positive difference it makes to people and places across Britain. We are big supporters of sustainable travel here at British Guild of Tourist Guides and love exploring the history & heritage of our extensive railway networks.

This year’s Community Rail Week theme is ‘Journeys for All’, shining a spotlight on the vital role community rail plays in fostering inclusion, strengthening local connections & breaking down barriers, helping ensure that everyone can access and enjoy rail travel. ✅

Take the train and explore some less well trodden paths in the company of one of ! Find one of our friendly qualified guides below! ⬇

Fascinating visit today with fellow North Wales guides to St Cybi's Church in Caergybi/Holyhead. The church, overlooking the modern day port & founded in the 6th century on the site of a rare 4th century Roman coastal fortress, has recently undergone a major restoration project.

New mosaics by help to tell its story.

Stunning in the Victorian Stanley Chapel pays tribute to its major benefactors, including a particularly poignant dedication to two WWII survivors tragically lost in an accident.

Thanks to all who shared their knowledge so generously today.
