BRILLIANT BUNKHOUSE
Lovely well equipped bunkhouse, clean and cosy! Easy check-in and check-out, hot showers were well appreciated after a day in the hills.

Roam West has a fantastic new menu featuring lots of creative and delicious dishes, which we were lucky enough to sample on Monday. It's about 15 minutes' drive from us, just off the A82 around half way to Fort William. A visit is a must while you're in the area! 😋🍽🤩

MOUNTAIN MONDAY: MEALL DEARG

Meall Dearg (the red hill) is one of our local Munros. It's not that well known in its own right, however it's right in the middle of the notorious Aonach Eagach ('notched ridge'), one of the most famous (or infamous) ridge scrambles in Scotland ⛰️😱

Meall Dearg was the final Munro reached by the Reverend A. E. Robertson, the first person to 'compleat' all of them, back in 1901 - he apparently kissed the cairn first, and then his wife! 😘🤣

If you fancy getting a taste of the airy ridge but you're not confident scrambling, it's possible to reach Meall Dearg from the north without any exposure or difficulty. Owner Phil headed up by that route yesterday afternoon, enjoying stunning summit views! 🥾🤩

Wow - summer has arrived (for now)! It was a stunning day of warm sunshine in the west Highlands. What better way to enjoy it than an afternoon jaunt up our local peak - Sgòrr na Cìche, the Pap of Glencoe! The views were superb, and a white-tailed eagle soared overhead near the summit ☀️⛰️🦅🤩
