It was raining this morning as forecast, so Pamela and I headed inside for a training session at Alien Bloc. A friendly and inclusive welcome as ever and some excellent problems.

I was out on Meall Sgallachd and Creag Mac Ranaich west of Glen Ogle today with Michael doing a Mountain Leader navigation deferral day for Falkirk Outdoors.

We visited lots of obscure contour features as well as the summits. It was clear that Michael had gone away and put the work in on the syllabus areas he'd been deferred on. This made my day as an assessor easy, so thank you and well done to Michael.

The last two days I've been delivering navigation courses in the Pentland Hills for the City of Edinburgh Council Adult Education Programme.

Two enjoyable days in dry conditions, if a little windy on Saturday. The participants desire to develop their navigation skills for walking/hill walking always makes these courses a pleasure to run.

I was out today on a Falkirk Outdoors coasteering staff training day.

We visited a venue in Ayrshire that was new to us all, which gave plenty of opportunities for dynamic risk assessment. The weather wasn't the most pleasant, but you're in a wet suit anyway!

Euan and I were out today with a Falkirk Outdoors climbing team of Brian, Hiu Mei and Michelle. We headed to the Aberdeen sea cliffs to avoid wetter weather further west and were rewarded with sunshine and good climbing as well as porpoises and seals.

After being chased inside to Alien Bloc yesterday by the showers, Euan and I managed to get some good outdoor climbing with Pamela today.

We climbed at Ratho Quarry doing a few repeats and working on a couple of projects.

Ross and I were out today at Rosyth Quarry looking at tactics for trad climbing. It was great to see him cruise one of his goals for the year 💪.
