WE’RE HOME! 🇫🇯✈️❤️

After an incredible adventure in Fiji, we’re finally back home!

We’ve absolutely loved every minute, made some amazing memories and experienced some truly beautiful places. From the stunning white sandy beaches and turquoise waters to the amazing hospitality, Fiji really is something special! 🌴☀️

We’re already missing it, but there’s no place like home and we’re so happy to be reunited with our boys. ❤️ Especially lovely to be back together for Halloween yesterday! 🎃

Now it’s back to work for me! 💻 And after experiencing Fiji first-hand, I can honestly say it’s a destination worth adding to your bucket list! 🇫🇯

🇫🇯🌴 Our Final Day in Paradise – Goodbye Fiji! 🌴🇫🇯

Yesterday we woke up to our final morning in Fiji, at the beautiful Yasawa Island Resort! 🥹☀️

After breakfast, we decided to make the most of one of the fantastic experiences included at Yasawa Island Resort – unlimited beach picnics! 🏝️❤️ What we didn’t realise was that these took place on one of the many private beaches on the island!

At 9am, we boarded a very speedy longboat which whisked us away to our very own private beach! 😍 The staff had packed us a little picnic with sparkling water, juice, biscuits and fresh fruit.

And then it was just the two of us, on a stunning, deserted beach in paradise! 🏝️💙 What a way to end our holiday! We spent a wonderful hour and a half enjoying the peace, beautiful surroundings and crystal-clear water before the longboat returned to collect us.

Back at the resort, it was a quick shower, some last-minute packing and time to check out! 🧳

We then enjoyed our final delicious lunch at Yasawa Island Resort, followed by one last dip in the pool and a little time drying off on the sunbeds, soaking up those final moments of Fijian sunshine! ☀️🍹

At 2pm, it was time for the emotional goodbye as the wonderful resort staff gathered to sing their traditional Fijian farewell song. 🎶

There were four couples leaving that afternoon, so eight of us boarded the minibus for the short five-minute journey back to the island’s airstrip. ✈️

We didn’t have long to wait before we watched our little plane land, bringing two very lucky new guests who were just about to begin their own Yasawa Island adventure! 😍

We then boarded for our 25-minute scenic flight back to Nadi Airport, saying goodbye to those breathtaking islands from above. 🌴🌊

On arrival, we were really impressed with the domestic arrivals terminal. It was lovely, with comfortable seating, complimentary coffee and bottled water – perfect after our flight! ☕️

Our driver from Rosie Holidays was waiting to collect us for another private car transfer, this time taking us back to Port Denarau. We arrived at 4pm, and we had arranged to meet Collin from Rosie Holidays for a drink and a catch-up! 🍹

Although this was our first time meeting in person, Collin has been incredibly helpful to me, so it was really lovely to finally meet him and have the opportunity to thank him and Rosie Holidays for all their help! ❤️

After saying goodbye to Collin, we enjoyed one last wander around Port Denarau, browsing the shops and picking up a few souvenirs to take home. 🛍️

We then sat down for our final dinner overlooking the beautiful harbour. The perfect setting to reflect on what has been the most incredible holiday! 🌅🍽️

At 6pm, our Rosie Holidays driver returned to collect us and take us back to Nadi International Airport, where it was finally time to begin our long journey home to the UK, travelling via Los Angeles (LAX). ✈️🇺🇸🇬🇧 We even bumped into a lovely Italian couple at the airport who had arrived at Matamanoa with us at the same time last week!

🇫🇯 Fiji, you have been absolutely AMAZING! ❤️

From the beautiful island resorts and breathtaking beaches to our unforgettable Blue Lagoon Cruise, incredible snorkelling experiences and the warmest welcomes from the Fijian people, this really has been a holiday of a lifetime! 🏝️🐠🌺

We’ve been lucky enough to experience so many different sides of Fiji during our stay, and I can’t wait to share more about the resorts, experiences and everything I’ve learnt along the way.

🌴☀️ Another day in paradise! 🇫🇯💙

Yesterday morning started perfectly at Yasawa Island Resort with a cup of tea, apple juice and biscuits on the day bed on our decking outside of our room before breakfast. 🫖🍪🌊

After breakfast, we spent some time in the library learning all about the history of resort, before taking a lovely stroll along the beach back to our room to get ready for a morning by the pool 🏊‍♀️

After lunch, we enjoyed another cup of tea - this time at the bar, before another quick swim in the pool and then heading back to our room to make the most of our day bed again! Honestly, I could get used to this life! 😍🏝️

Later in the afternoon, we headed down to the beach for some snorkelling straight from the shore before enjoying a swim in the beautiful, warm sea. 🐠🤿💦

Then it was time to get ready for the evening! We enjoyed cocktails at the bar 🍹 before heading down for a very magical dinner on the beach. 🌅🍴As this was our last night, we were served a seafood platter 🦞 This is Yasawa’s unique way of saying goodbye to its guests on their last night in the resort. There were also two birthdays being celebrated last night! And the lovely staff gave both birthday boys a musical celebration with delicious birthday cake, which was kindly shared with us too! 🎂

Days like these are what holidays are all about! So sad that this was our last full day here in Fiji…I’m definitely not ready for this trip to end! 🇫🇯✨

🌴🇫🇯 Fiji Diaries – Arriving at Yasawa Island Resort! 🇫🇯🌴

Yesterday morning, we woke up at the beautiful Radisson Blu Resort and enjoyed breakfast before checking out and being collected by Rosie Holidays for our private car transfer to Nadi airport. ✈️

We’ve been fortunate to use Rosie Holidays for all of our land transfers, but the Bula Bus which goes from the port to all the local hotels looks like a great way to get around, and lots of fun too! 🚐 This is an open sided bus with a thatched roof!

This time, we were heading to the domestic terminal, and check-in was super quick and easy! Before we knew it, we were on board a small plane heading to Yasawa Island Resort, around a 25-minute flight to the very top of the Yasawa Islands. 🌊 After this island, there’s nothing but open ocean!

😍 The views from the plane were absolutely stunning, and it was such an incredible way to arrive at our next destination.

On landing, we were greeted with beautiful handmade flower garlands, fresh hand towels and fruit before hopping into a minibus for the short, five-minute drive to the resort. 🌺

We received another traditional Fijian welcome on arrival, complete with singing and musical instruments, before sitting down to enjoy a delicious lunch. ❤️

Next, it was time to see our bure, and WOW! 😍 It’s absolutely stunning, incredibly spacious and open plan. We have a living area, a huge bathroom with double sinks, a shower and toilet, plus an outdoor shower! There’s also decking with seating and a daybed overlooking the ocean. 🌊 And it gets even better… closer to the beach, we have our own private sunbeds under a thatched roof, a hammock and our very own private entrance straight onto the beach! 🏝️☀️ The perfect little slice of paradise!

After settling in, we took a walk along the beach towards the main pool area. On the way, we discovered that dinner was already being prepared right there on the beach! 🔥

This wasn’t just any BBQ either! Some of the meat had been buried and cooked under the sand, while vegetables were wrapped in palm leaves ready to be cooked. Such a fascinating traditional Fijian cooking method! 🌴🍽️

We also enjoyed fresh coconut juice straight from the coconut. 🥥😋 Then it was time to relax by the pool while some of the other guests joined in with a cooking lesson on the beach.

Later, we wandered back along the beach to our bure to get ready for the evening.

🍹 Our evening was just as special as the day!

We started with a cocktail at the bar before watching a traditional Fijian dance and storytelling performance on the beach, including spear fighting! 🇫🇯 The atmosphere was amazing, and before long, we were all joining in with the dancing across the sand! 💃🕺

We then sat down together to enjoy the meal that had been prepared on the beach earlier that afternoon. Everyone sat together, which was a lovely way to get to know some of the other guests and share stories about our travels. ❤️

What a first day at Yasawa Island Resort! From the spectacular flight and warm Fijian welcome to our beautiful beachfront bure, traditional cooking and dancing under the stars, this place is already feeling very special. 🌺✨

Fiji really is full of unforgettable experiences, and I feel so lucky to be here discovering it all!

🌴🚢 Our Last Day on Board the Yasawa Princess! 🇫🇯💙

Yesterday was our last day on board the Yasawa Princess with Blue Lagoon Cruises, and what an amazing adventure it’s been! 🥹🌊

First thing in the morning, we travelled to the beautiful Sacred Islands. We enjoyed breakfast on board with a rather exciting view of the sharks swimming around our boat! 🦈😮

At 9am, we took the tenders over to the beach to enjoy a little time on shore before returning to the boat at 10am to freshen up and check out of our room.

We then made the most of our last bit of time on board, relaxing on deck in the sunshine and chatting with the other guests before enjoying our final lunch together. ☀️🍹

Before saying goodbye, the amazing staff treated us to a traditional Fijian farewell, complete with singing and musical instruments. ❤️🎶 It was such a lovely send-off and a reminder of just how special the people of Fiji are!

One of the things that has made this cruise so special is how small and intimate the ship is, with just 22 cabins. 🛳️💙 We’ve made some fantastic friends on board, which made saying goodbye even harder!

Monday was the end of the three-night cruise, but as we got off, new guests were boarding to begin their own Fiji adventure!

After settling in, we spent some time exploring the resort, enjoying the pools and bars before heading to the Thai restaurant for dinner. 🍜🍹 What a contrast to our little cruise ship, and our stay at Matamanoa! The Radisson Blu is a much bigger resort, with multiple pools, bars, restaurants and plenty of space to explore. 🍹🏊‍♀️ It’s also a fantastic option for families, with facilities and activities to keep the children entertained, making it a great choice for a family holiday as well as a relaxing escape for couples. And it’s only 5 minutes from the port, making it a great option on the mainland pre or post an island or cruise! 💚

Our Blue Lagoon Cruise has been an unforgettable experience, filled with beautiful islands, incredible snorkelling, wonderful people and memories we’ll treasure forever. 💙🇫🇯

It’s been sad to say goodbye to the Yasawa Princess, but our Fiji adventure isn’t over just yet! 🌴☀️ Next stop, Yasawa Island Resort! 🏖️

🌴🐠 ANOTHER DAY OF PARASISE WITH BLUE LAGOON CRUISES! 🇫🇯💙

We woke up moored outside Soso Village again yesterday morning, where we had a choice of optional excursions. We could head back into the village to join the Sunday morning church service or head out to a nearby reef for more snorkelling! 🤿🐠

Well, you can probably guess what we chose… MORE SNORKELLING! 😂💙🐟

Once back on board, the cruise set sail again to our next destination whilst we freshened up and had another delicious buffet lunch and some sunbathing time. In the afternoon, we hopped back into the tenders and had a beautiful beach entirely to ourselves! 🏝️ Some guests chose to sunbathe or take a stroll along the beach, but we couldn’t resist getting back into the water for yet another snorkel!

This time, we found ourselves swimming in water that was honestly like a HOT TUB in some parts! 🛁🌊 It was unbelievably warm! 😍

After all that swimming, we enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea on the beach before heading back on board our cruise ship. ☕🍰🏝️

🥂 We finally got around to opening our complimentary bottle of ch*****ne before dinner! We enjoyed a glass in our room, took it up to the top deck to soak up the views, and even took it along with us to dinner! 🥂🍾

Dinner was a traditional Fijian buffet featuring fish, meat, rice and salad, giving us another taste of the local cuisine. 🇫🇯😋

Days like these are what dreams are made of! Sunshine, secluded beaches, crystal-clear waters and endless opportunities to explore the underwater world. 💙☀️
