A Christmas Journey to Austria 🎄✨

Step into the heart of a winter wonderland and discover the timeless charm of Austria at Christmas.

Among the snow-dusted Alpine villages and candlelit markets lies Oberndorf, home to the tiny Silent Night Chapel – the site where “Stille Nacht” (Silent Night) was first sung on Christmas Eve in 1818. Meet Our Iona Retreat Leaders 🌿

We’re delighted to welcome Revd Graham Sparkes as retreat leader and Revd Paul Ellerby as our McCabe host for this October’s journey to Iona.

Graham brings deep wisdom and warmth, drawing on his experience in ministry, theological education and Christian spirituality. He writes:
“Iona is a special place... My hope is that together we will reflect on the features of the place we are in, allowing them to renew and strengthen our faith and discipleship.”

Paul is a familiar and friendly face at McCabe – offering support, care and practical help every step of the way.

🌿 Honouring Rosemary’s Legacy 🌿

In 2023, we launched the Rosemary Nutt Memorial Award to honour our much-loved colleague and friend, Rosemary Nutt, who served as a McCabe Director for over 30 years.

That year, we donated £10,000 to three wonderful causes that reflected her passions: supporting children in Georgia, naming a guide dog puppy, and helping working donkeys in Nepal.

We’re pleased to share that the award will return in 2025, continuing Rosemary’s legacy of compassion, generosity and faith in action.

We’ll be announcing the next projects to be supported by the fund in the next few weeks - and we look forward to keeping you updated.
