It's Feedback Friday and in light of it being World Breastfeeding Week we're highlighting the support available to families in Calderdale through our Latch Clinic and breast pump loan scheme.

Here's some feedback we've received recently:

🗣️ "I can't thank Locala enough for providing me with a loan breast pump. They helped me protect my supply and got a pump to me straight away."

🗣️ "Such a simple fix, but they took the time to check everything and really listened. No judgement – just reassurance when I needed it."

It's Feedback Friday, and this week we’d like to say a big thank you to our Community Health and Social Care Hub team. 👏

The team consistently goes above and beyond, day in and day out, ensuring that calls from members of the public are handled efficiently and with care.

An NHS resident doctor strike will begin on Friday 25th July at 07:00 for 5 days.

Our services are running as normal, so please attend appointments as planned.

From Monday 4 August, Locala’s Continence, Colorectal and Stoma Service will be renamed the Bladder and Bowel Health Service.

This change aims to make it easier for patients and colleagues to understand the care we provide.

Please be assured that the standard of care will remain unchanged.

Sarah and Tara, Employability Managers at Locala, took part in Moorlands Primary School’s Year 5 Careers Afternoon earlier this month, alongside Laura, Child Development Practitioner, and Teigan, Organisational Development Officer.

The session gave pupils a chance to learn about careers in healthcare and find out more about Locala. It was great to see how engaged they were during the activities.

Thank you to Laura and Teigan for supporting the event. 👏

A reminder that we will be at Rawthorpe Dalton Library Hub today from 1:30pm - 3:30pm ⏬⏬⏬

Join us at Rawthorpe Dalton Library Hub on Monday 21st July, 1.30 – 3.30pm.

Honeyzz Diabetes Support Group UK and Locala Diabetes Specialist Nurses will be on-site in the Locala clinical van, offering free Diabetes health checks, advice on nutrition, and support for managing or reducing your risk of Diabetes.

Come along and speak to the team – everyone is welcome. 📣

We’ve kicked off the Learning Disability Cancer Champions Project with a fantastic co-production session in Huddersfield!

Led by Jo Vaughan and organised by Preeya Patel, the session brought together 10 adults with learning disabilities to help shape their upcoming lessons.

With support from Cloverleaf Advocacy, South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust nurses Jess and Lucy, Ability Options Support Services, Yorkshire Cancer Community, we explored:

🔹 What being a “Champion” means
🔹 What makes a good lesson
🔹 The right words to use
🔹 How to celebrate success
🔹 And lots of creative ideas!

Participants also loved the easy-read consent and feedback materials 💬✅
