Join us on a spectacular pleasure cruise along the Menai Straits to either Puffin Island or Telford's world-famous suspension bridge at Menai Bridge aboard Beaumaris' premier passenger boat. Puffin Island cruises last 70-75 minutes and our highly trained and experienced local crew will point out just about everything there is to see. You will have the opportunity to take in panoramic views of the Snowdonia mountain range, Penmon Lighthouse and Puffin Island itself. At Puffin Island you have the opportunity to view as many as 12 species of sea birds in their natural habitat, including guillemots, cormorants, kittiwakes and of course the puffin. The east end of the island is home to a colony of grey seals, and you may be lucky enough to spot a bottlenose dolphin or harbour porpoise! The highly-successful Menai Bridge cruise takes in the beautiful scenery bordering the Menai Straits, views of Bangor Pier and the Snowdonia mountain range and Anglesey's very own millionaires' row before arriving at Menai Bridge and the world's first modern suspension bridge (as featured on the 2005 £1 coin). This cruise lasts 60 minutes and departs every Thursday evening at 5pm, other times by arrangement. Starting from July, the Cliffs and Quarries is a specially extended evening cruise taking in the wildlife at Puffin Island before carrying on along the Anglesey coast to view the spectacular ancient quarries and a pre-historic hill fort, all with a full commentary focusing on the unique geology and history of this part of the world. And that's not all because on this trip there is a greater chance of seeing the dolphins and porpoise, as well as the fastest living creature on the planet, the peregrine falcon, which can reach the astonishing speed of 240mph when in full dive!
