For 200 years, this bridge has done far more than connect Anglesey to the mainland. It’s been a welcome home, a goodbye, a daily crossing, and a quiet constant in our lives.

For those of us who live here, the Menai Suspension Bridge isn’t just steel and stone — it’s part of who we are. It marks the moment Anglesey feels like home.
No matter how far you’ve travelled, seeing the bridge always means you’re nearly there.

For me, it holds so many memories. Journeys taken, returns made, and that familiar feeling every time I cross — a sense of belonging and pride.

Two centuries on, it still stands strong, still doing its job, still quietly shaping life on the island.

Happy 200th birthday to a true Anglesey icon. 🌉💙
